Redhawks Travel to UT Martin
• Southeast Missouri (6-15, 2-0) resumes Ohio Valley Conference play when it travels to UT Martin (13-11, 1-2) for a three-game series this weekend.
• Due to rain, the series was adjusted with SEMO and UTM scheduled to play a 4 p.m. game Friday and 12 p.m., CT doubleheader Saturday.
• SEMO plays its next six games on the road.
• After this weekend's series, the Redhawks head to Southern Indiana on Mar. 21-22.
Series Notes
• Southeast Missouri holds a 77-51 advantage in its all-time series against UT Martin.
• SEMO has gone 14-4 in its last 18 meetings with the Skyhawks.
• The Redhawks are 30-25 against UTM in Martin, Tennessee.
• SEMO won the series between the teams, 2-1, in Cape Girardeau a year ago.
OVC-Opening Sweep
• Heavy rain in the area forced Southeast Missouri to move its Ohio Valley Conference opening series vs. Western Illinois from Cape Girardeau to Marion, Illinois Monday.
• The teams were initially scheduled to play a doubleheader on Mar. 7 and single game on Mar. 8.
• Instead, the series was shortened to a doubleheader, where SEMO took both games by scores of 4-3 and 14-2 (five innings).
• The doubleheader was played at the Oasis Sports Complex.
• It marked the third-straight season the Redhawks recorded a series sweep of WIU.
• SEMO has won each of the last eight meetings between the teams.
Redhawks Win OVC Opener
• With its 4-3 win over Western Illinois (Mar. 9), Southeast Missouri improved to 23-11 all-time in Ohio Valley Conference openers.
• SEMO started league play with a win in 12 of the last 16 seasons.
• The Redhawks won eight of their last nine home-openers.
Redhawks Drop Doubleheader at #12 Mississippi State
• The Redhawks dropped a midweek doubleheader at #12 Mississippi State by scores of 9-0 and 4-0 on Mar. 10.
• MSU marked the third ranked opponent Southeast Missouri faced this season.
• The Redhawks also played #6 Arkansas and #21 Oklahoma State this year.
• SEMO finished with a 0-6 record against ranked foes in 2026.
Winkler Playing Strong
• Madison Winkler has hit safelty in 10 of her last 11 games.
• Winkler also reached base in 27 of her previous 28 contests dating back to May 4, 2025.
• She got a hit in 18 of her first 21 starts this season.
• Winkler reached on a walk in two of her starts.
• She is hitting a team-high .385 and boasts a team-best .420 on-base percentage this season.
300 Wins in Sight
• Mark Redburn is just one win away from reaching 300 as Southeast Missouri's head coach.
• Redburn took over the helm in 2015 and has a record of 299-245 during his SEMO tenure.
• Combined, Redburn has 389 victories between his NCAA Division I coaching stops at SEMO (299) and Evansville (90).
Redhawks Erupt for Season-Highs
• Southeast Missouri concluded its doubleheader sweep of Western Illinois with a 14-2 win on Mar. 9.
• SEMO established new season-highs in runs (14) and hits (13) during its best offensive performance to date.
• The Redhawks sent 13 hitters to the plate and put up nine runs in the bottom of the third inning to key their largest win of the season thus far.
Carney Approaching 100 Career Strikeouts
• Maddie Carney is 10 strikeouts away from reaching 100 in her career.
• Carney currently has 90 strikeouts in her three-year career with the Redhawks.
• She has a team-high 24 strikeouts in 52 innings over 12 appearances and 11 starts this season.
Big Day for Shore
• Aubrie Shore went a perfect 5-of-5 at the plate with two runs scored, a double, two walks and five RBI in Southeast Missouri's doubleheader sweep of Western Illinois (Mar. 9).
• Shore went 2-for-2 in game one and 3-for-3 with five RBI in the nightcap.
• Her five RBI tied a career-high.
Van Haren Gets First Win
• Willow Van Haren earned her first win of the season when she beat Western Illinois (Mar. 9).
• Van Haren worked five innings allowing two runs on six hits in her complete game.
• She is 1-4 in 11 appearances and six starts this year.

• Currently, UT Martin is the only Ohio Valley Conference team with an overall winning record this 2026 season.
• UTM is 13-11 overall and 1-2 in OVC play.
• The Skyhawks began the conference season with a series loss at Lindenwood. Both of their OVC losses were by one run in extra innings.
• UTM leads the league in hitting with a .298 average.
