Gymhawks Host Second-Straight Quad Meet Friday Night
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics (6-4, 3-0 MIC) will return to action on Friday, February 6, when they host their second-straight quad meet in Cape Girardeau. Competition is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., CT. inside Houck Field House. 
 
Promo Galore
Friday night marks a big night at Houck Field House for the first meet in the venue this season. Friday's meet is titled 'Peace Love PINK Out' Night to raise awareness for breast cancer research. Be sure to wear pink as the Gymhawks will sport special pink leotards. 
 
Peace Love / Chick-Fil-A
Friday's meet also marks 'Peace Love Energy' Night. The folks at Peace, Love, & Energy are providing the first fans in the building with a free drink. To go with a drink, Chick-Fil-A Cape Girardeau will be giving away a Chick-Fil-A meal card valid at the Chick-Fil-A of Cape Girardeau. 
 
Alumni Night
This season, SEMO Athletics and SEMO Gymnastics have been celebrating the 50th season of the gymnastics program as this upcoming weekend marks 'Alumni Weekend' for all past Gymhawks. Former athletes and their families are invited back to Houck Field House for a night of memories, pride, and Redhawk tradition. 
 
The Meet
Southeast Missouri enters the Friday night quad-meet as the highest ranked team in the competition, according to Road to Nationals (RTN). The Gymhawks ranks 51st in the RTN standings, followed by Bowling Green (55), Simpson College (76), and Fisk (80) round out the teams competing on Friday night. 
 
Season-High Sunday
The Gymhawks are coming off a season-high performance as a team on Sunday afternoon as SEMO concluded the quad meet with a 194.500 third-place finish. Ball State took home the top spot in the competition with a 195.675 followed by Wisconsin-Oshkosh (194.525) who finished second. Senior Taylor Ingle helped pave the way for the Gymhawks with a 38.550 all-around score in her 19th-straight all-around competition. Junior Ava Johnston captured her first event title of her career with a career-best 9.875 on the bars. 
 
Vault Squad
The Gymhawks marked their best score on the vault on Sunday afternoon with a 48.650 team score to begin the meet. Senior Taylor Ingle recorded a season-high 9.850 to lead the pack as three Gymhawks scored a 9.700 or higher. Joselene Hernandez (9.750) and Jaidan Kossuth (9.750) joined Ingle to begin the meet. 
 
Steady Improvement
Junior Jaidan Kossuth has gotten better each week on the floor after being inserted into the lineup during the second week of the season. Kossuth recorded a season-high 9.800 on the floor Sunday afternoon after surpassing her previous best at Arkansas (9.750). Kossuth began the year with a 9.475 in the floor lineup and has now gone back-to-back weeks with a 9.700 or higher. 
 
First Career Event Title
Junior Ava Johnston soared to her new career-high on the bars. The Gainesville, Virginia-bars specialist recorded a career-best 9.875 on the bars on Sunday afternoon. In addition to the score, Johnston took home her first career event title as she placed first overall on the bars in the second home meet of the season. 
 
Veteran Beam
Senior Ailey Kuehn hit her season-high on the beam this past Sunday. Kuehn recorded a 9.800 which also marks her new career-high in a SEMO leotard. Kuehn has now gone back-to-back weeks with a 9.700 or higher and has been on the beam in all four meets so far this year. 
 
Air Force One
Sophomore Anna Lee Phillips had her best showing of the season on the floor last Sunday for the Gymhawks as she recorded a 9.800. The score tied her career-high 9.800 that she set as a freshman a season ago. The 9.800 is Phillips' season-high and she has now improved her floor score in three-of-four meets this year. 
 
19 Straight
Senior Taylor Ingle competed in her 19th-straight all-around competition dating back to the 2025 campaign. Ingle recorded a 38.550 on Sunday afternoon with a pair of scores of 9.800 or higher on vault (9.850) and floor (9.875). She scored a 9.775 on the bars and a 9.050 on the beam to round out her afternoon. Her 9.875 on the floor marked a new season-high for the Coppell, Texas-native.
