Redhawks Travel to South CarolinaÂ
•   Southeast Missouri (2-0) travels to Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina (1-0) for its first road game of the season Sunday. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m., CT at Colonial Life Arena.
•   SEMO is on the road for three of its next four contests.
•   After Sunday's matchup, the Redhawks head to Middle Tennessee (Nov. 13) and St. Thomas (Nov. 19).Â
Series Notes
•   Southeast Missouri faces South Carolina for the first time in its program history.
•   USC is the sixth Southeastern Conference school SEMO will play.
•   Prior to this year, SEMO had games against Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri and Vanderbilt out of the SEC.
Against the SEC
•   The Redhawks are 0-24 all-time against the Southeastern Conference membership.
•   Southeast Missouri did beat Arkansas in 1924-25 (28-21), but Arkansas was not in the SEC at that time.
•   The Redhawks series records against current SEC teams are as follows: 1-8 vs. Arkansas, 0-1 vs. LSU, 0-2 vs. Ole Miss, 0-10 vs. Missouri and 0-3 vs. Vanderbilt.
•   SEMO's last game against a SEC opponent was at Missouri (L, 89-84, Nov. 7, 2025).
Power Four Schools
•   Southeastern Conference member South Carolina is the only Power Four school on Southeast Missouri's 2026-27 schedule.
•   SEMO has never beaten an opponent from the SEC, Big Ten, ACC or Big 12.
•   Overall, the Redhawks are 0-51 all-time against such teams.
•   South Carolina is the fourth Power Four school Brad Korn will face in his career.
•   Korn is 0-2 vs. Missouri, 0-1 vs. Iowa and 0-1 vs. Vanderbilt as SEMO's head coach.
Back-to-Back Wins
•   Southeast Missouri is 2-0 to start a season for just the second time under Head Coach Brad Korn.
•   SEMO won two home games in three days to begin its 2026-27 campaign.
•   The Redhawks took down Lipscomb (Nov. 2), 86-79, and Webster (Nov. 4), 90-65.
•   SEMO last began a season undefeated in its first two games in 2022-23.
Over 85
•   The Redhawks scored over 85 points in their first two games this year.
•   The 86 points vs. Lipscomb (Nov. 2) were Southeast Missouri's second-most in a season-opener under Head Coach Brad Korn.
•   Two days later, SEMO dropped in 90 points vs. NCAA Division III member Webster (Nov. 4).
•   The Redhawks are tied for second in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring offense with 88 points per game.
First Double-Double Goes to Bell
•   Marqueas Bell recorded the first double-double for Southeast Missouri this season when he finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. Webster (Nov. 4).
•   Bell shot 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-5 at the free throw line against the Gorloks. He also had five assists and two blocks.
•   It was his team-high fourth career double-double.
Jewell Produces
•   Colorado-Mesa transfer Clayton Jewell is off to a nice start in his first season of NCAA Division I basketball.
•   Jewell is Southeast Missouri's leading rebounder (8.5 rpg) and shot-blocker (5 blocks) in his first two starts.
•   He recently had 10 rebounds against Webster (Nov. 4).
Korn Building
•   The University of South Carolina has a facility on its campus named the Korn Building.
•   Quite a coincidence considering Korn is not a name you usually see away from Cape Girardeau.
•   The facility is used by the University -- coordinated via the Division of Information Technology and Facilities departments -- and has required municipal integration such as fiber optic and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) conduit routing across nearby blocks of Pickens Street.
•   The Korn Building houses USC's broadcast producer.
•   Brad Korn is four wins away from reaching 100 in his career.
•   Korn currently has 96 wins in his seventh season as Southeast Missouri's head coach.
•   Sixty of those victories came in Ohio Valley Conference play.
Non-Conference Games
•   Brad Korn is 36-45 in non-conference games during his career.
•   Korn's best non-league record as Southeast Missouri's head coach stands at 9-9 in 2022-23, the season SEMO last won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and made the NCAA Tournament.
•   His other non-conference records include 2-5 in 2020-21, 6-9 in 2021-22, 5-8 in 2023-24, 6-7 in 2024-25 and 6-7 in 2025-26.
3-Pointer Streak
•   The Redhawks have made at least one 3-pointer in 557 consecutive games.
•   The last time Southeast Missouri did not make a 3-pointer was vs. Western Illinois (0-of-6) on Dec. 10, 2008.
About South Carolina
•   South Carolina is off to a 1-0 start after blowing out Stetson University, 81-55, in its season-opener on Nov. 3.
•   USC begins the season with five-straight home games.
•   The Gamecocks finished 14th in the 16-team SEC with an overall record of 13-19 and 4-14 conference mark.
•   Lamont Paris, who is in his fifth season at USC, picked up his 150th career victory all-time in 10 years as a head coach.
•   The Gamecocks lost all five of their starters from their 2024-25 squad.
•   Juan Fernandez led USC with 20 points in this year's season-opener. Davion Hannah narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds against the Hatters.
