CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri added pitcher Summer Branch to its softball roster Wednesday. Branch will be eligible to play for the Redhawks this spring.
A native of Holts Summit, Missouri, Branch was a four-year starter at Jefferson City High School. She earned First-Team All-Conference, All-District, All-Region and All-State honors each of her final two prep seasons.
As a senior, Branch recorded 264 strikeouts in 163 innings and boasted a 1.72 ERA while holding opponents to a .187 batting average. The year before that, she struck out 243 in 168 innings and fashioned a 1.53 ERA. Branch finished her sophomore season with a 1.66 ERA and 170 strikeouts in 181 innings.
For her career, Branch registered a 1.68 ERA with 738 strikeouts.
She played for the Missouri Bombers Gold 18U club softball team, as well.
