CHICAGO, Ill. – Southeast Missouri Gymnastics picked up its first event title with a 193.350 to win the 'Windy City Invite' on Friday night. The Gymhawks edged out fellow MIC members Illinois State (192.300) and Centenary (185.700) who finished second and third in the meet.
Senior
Taylor Ingle took home the all-around title in the second meet of the season as she recorded a season-high 39.075. All four of her scores were 9.700 or higher including two scores of 9.800 on the vault and floor.
Bars
- The Gymhawks started the evening on Bars, turning in a team score of 48.325 as the Gymhawks placed second, third, and fourth on the apparatus
- Junior Ava Johnston picked up where she left off a week ago with a 9.750 to lead the Gymhawks
- Sophomore Gracie Jones placed second with a 9.725
Beam
- The Gymhawks turned in their best rotation score of the night on the Beam, turning in a season-high 49.000 as the Redhawks claimed the podium on the Beam
- Juniors Jaidan Kossuth, Leah Parton, and sophomore Reagan Sams all tied for first place on the beam with a 9.825; all three scored season-highs
- Taylor Ingle followed close behind with a 9.775
- Graduate student Nyah Reader had a strong showing with a 9.750
Floor
- SEMO turned to the floor for the third rotation of the night registering a 47.700
- Taylor Ingle won the floor title on the night, turning in a 9.800 and edging out Illinois State's Jaly Jones (9.750)
- Reagan Sams recorded the second-highest score of the night with a 9.675
Vault
- The Gymhawks tied their bars score on the fourth and final apparatus of the evening, turning in a 48.325 on the vault
- Taylor Ingle once again captured the event title as she tied with ISU's Sammie Wolff for the top spot with a 9.800
- Joselene Hernandez followed behind with a 9.675, Kailyn Hamilton took third with a 9.650
Looking Ahead
SEMO Gymnastics will return to action next Friday, January 23, when they take on Arkansas. Competition is slated to begin at 7 p.m., CT. in Fayetteville, Ark.
