SEMO Set for WASHU Distance Carnival and Pacesetter Sports Invite this Weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri track & field will be split this weekend at the WashU Distance Carnival March 27-28 and the Pacesetter Sports Invitational Saturday, March 29th.
The distance runners will travel to St. Louis to compete at WashU at the Bushyhead Track. The meet is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m., CST on day one and 10:45 a.m. for day two.
The field athletes will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete at Indiana State University. The meet will be held at the Gibson Track & Field Complex, with the meet slated to begin at 10:00 a.m., CST.
Where We Rank
For each individual event the top 48 performances will be accepted into the NCAA regional which is broken up into East and West. For each relay event, the top 24 relay teams will be accepted into the competition. The top 24 performances in the combined events (Heptathlon and Decathlon) are accepted directly into the Championships.
The sport is broken up into nine regions, SEMO is in the Midwest Region which includes all the Division One schools from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Southeast has six marks ranked in the top 50 of the country, 14 marks ranked first in the OVC and 49 performances in the top five in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Cole Reinders ranks 39th in the nation and first in the Ohio Valley Conference in the 800m with a time of 1:50.83 that was achieved at the Ole Miss Classic. Reinders also ranks first in the OVC in the 1500m with a time of 3:48.99.
In the long jump, Luke Hatfield Jackson is ranked 20th in the NCAA and first in the OVC, achieving a mark of 24' 3.75" at the Ole Miss Classic.
With a distance of 49' 7.25" Kenyon Johnson ranks 26th in the nation and first in the Ohio Valley Conference in triple jump, achieving the mark in the Ole Miss Classic.
Luke Busateri ranks 32nd in the NCAA in the triple jump, achieving the mark at the Ole Miss Classic.
Paden Lewis ranks 35th in the nation and first in the OVC in shot put with a mark of 58' 2.5" and 34th in the nation and first in the conference in hammer throw with a distance of 204' 7" with both marks being achieved at the Ole Miss Classic.
Anna Thomason ranks first in the Ohio Valley Conference in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.88.
Molly Grohmann holds top spot in the conference in high jump, clearing a height of 5'5".
Vaulting over a height of 16' 1.25" earned Sullivan Gleason first place in the conference rankings in pole vault.
First place in the OVC women's pole vault rankings is held by Clara Billing, who cleared a height of 12' 8.25".
Clay Alewelt holds first place in the OVC in discus, throwing for a distance of 164' 11".
In the hammer throw Makenzie Williams threw for a distance of 189' 5" to take first place in the Ohio Valley Conference rankings.
Josiah Kilgore ranks first in the conference in javelin throwing for a distance of 194' 3".
Throwing for a distance of 137' 10", Kennedy Zgaynor ranks first in the conference in javelin.
Athletes of the Week
Luke Hatfield Jackson claimed the first OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week award of the outdoor season with a first place finish in long jump at the Ole Miss Classic. The graduate student jumped a distance of 24' 3.75" placing him 20th nationally and first in the conference.
Anna Thomason claimed the first OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week award of the outdoor season after winning gold and setting a personal record in the 100m hurdles at the Ole Miss Classic with a time of 13.88. This time ranked her 54th in the NCAA and first in the OVC, while also being second all time in SEMO records.

The Redhawks will be back at home next week as they host the Joey Haines Invite April 3-5.
