Sylvia Keiter Award
Senior
Janelle Lopez was honored with the annual Sylvia Keiter Award which is given to the gymnast who best represents the qualities of former Centenary gymnast Sylvia Keiter, who tragically passed away when she was killed by a drunk driver when stopped to help a motorist in need.
Janelle battled injuries all season long and was in and out of the lineup. Head Coach
Ashley Lawson had this to say about Lopez: "Janelle has displayed her work-ethic, dedication, and selflessness throughout the season. She has continued to help lead the team as a senior whether she was competing or not. I could not be more proud of the way she has cared about and supported her teammates throughout the year."
Assistants of the Year
Lydia Test and
Keira Boetel took home Assistant Coach of the Year awards, splitting the award with Texas Woman's coaching staff. The first-year duo became the first assistants to win the award since Sarah Shire Brown (2014) and are just the sixth coaches to win the award in program history. Both coaches featured in their first season as a full-time assistant coach.
