Redhawks Begin Outdoor Season at the Ole Miss Classic

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri track and field will begin the 2025 outdoor season this weekend as they travel to Oxford, Mississippi for the Ole Miss Classic March 21-22 at Prefontaine Stadium at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex.
The meet will feature 459 total athletes from Alabama-Huntsville, Bellarmine, Christian Brothers, Harding, Little Rock, Memphis, North Alabama, Ole Miss, Southern Illinois, and SEMO.
The meet begins on Friday at 12:00 p.m., CST with the women's hammer throw. The running events are slated for 6:00 p.m. with 200m dash.
On Saturday the meet is scheduled for a 11:00 a.m. start with the women's high jump. The track events begin at 1:00 p.m with the women's 4x100m relay.
The 2024 outdoor season saw the Redhawks send nine athletes to the NCAA West Preliminary Round. During the year Southeast broke six SEMO records and finished the OVC Champioship with 13 gold medals and 25 podium finishes.
The women's team won their 12th Outdoor Ohio Valley Conference title by dominating the meet, winning by 49.5 points.
The men's team placed third with 142.50 total points behind Eastern Illinois (190.50) in second and Little Rock (220) in first.
Brianna Dixon won OVC Female Freshman of the year and OVC Female Field athlete of the year.
Paden Lewis claimed Male Field Athlete of the Year and Male Field Athlete of the Championship.
Head Coach Eric Crumpecker won his sixth women's outdoor coach of the year.
