Gymhawks Hit Road for Central Michigan Tri-Meet
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics will be on the road for their seventh meet of the season this week on Thursday, February 6, at the Central Michigan Tri-Meet. Competition is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m., CT. from McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Who's There?
The Gymhawks will square off with Mid-American Conference (MAC) member Central Michigan and NCAA Division III member Wisconsin-Oshkosh. SEMO has faced off with Central Michigan earlier this season at the Bowling Green Tri-Meet resulting in a 195.600-192.375 CMU victory.

History
After the matchup earlier this season, SEMO fell to 2-6 all time against the Chippewas and are 0-3 on the season against MAC schools. In contrast, the meeting with Oshkosh marks the 15th time the programs have faced one another in gymnastics. The Gymhawks are 14-0 all-time against the Titans.

Last Time Out
The Gymhawks were last in action last Friday night (Jan. 31) against fellow Midwest Independent Conference member Illinois State inside Houck Field House. SEMO set a new season-high team score of 193.750.  Illinois State recorded a 194.875 to win the dual meet.

Season-Highs
Seven Gymhawks recorded a new season-high last Friday night helping SEMO record their highest team score of the season. Sophomore Ava Johnston and freshman Gracie Jones turned in season-highs on the bars with a pair of 9.775s from spot three and five, respectively, in the bars lineup.

Nyah Reader recorded a new season best with a 9.775 on the beam leading the Redhawks to their second highest rotation score of the evening. Junior Ailey Kuehn followed suit, turning in a 9.725 to surpass her previous best this season.

Where We Rank
Entering Thursday's competition, the Gymhawks currently rank 60th in the country according to Road to Nationals. The vault is SEMO's highest ranking at 54th followed by bars (62nd), floor (63rd), and beam (69th).

Newcomer Jaidan Kossuth, who joined the Redhawks this season, has featured on the beam for the Gymhawks in all six meets so far this season. Over her last four routines, Kossuth has turned in four scores of 9.700 or higher. Her previous best was a 9.775 at Centenary (1/20) until she recorded a 9.850 in the first home meet of the season last Friday (1/31).
