Redhawks Continue Tennessee Tour Saturday at Tennessee State
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (3-6, 0-1 OVC) will continue its two-game road trip on Saturday, December 20, when they take on Tennessee State (1-9, 0-1 OVC) in Nashville, Tennessee. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m., CT. at the Gentry Center Saturday afternoon.Â

The Redhawks and Tigers meet for the 56
th time in women's basketball on Saturday. During the 2024-25 campaign, the two programs split the regular season series with each road team winning the contest. SEMO picked up its first conference win of the season with a 75-68 victory in Nashville, before TSU returned to Cape Girardeau and captured a 70-62 victory at the Show Me Center. The Redhawks lead the overall series by a 30-25 series advantage.Â

OVC Opener
The Redhawks began the 2025-26 OVC slate on Thursday night at Tennessee Tech, resulting in a 77-64 loss at the Eblen Center. SEMO, who trailed 34-33 at the half, opened the second half with a quick bucket from
Raissa Nsabua who led the Redhawks in scoring with a season-high 15 points. TTU would regain control in the third quarter with a 42-percent from the field and 50-percent from three-point range as they won the quarter 25-14. Three Redhawks finished in double figures in Nsabua,
Ainaya Williams (12), and
Da'Kariya Jackson (11) as SEMO shot 39.7-percent from the field in the contest.Â

Raissa Nsabua had a standout performance against Tennessee Tech scoring a season-high 15 points on 6-8 shooting from the field. Nsabua played 37-of-40 minutes in the contest, tying her season-high in minutes played. Her 75-percent shooting from the field marked her highest percentage of the season. She is averaging 6.4 PPG and 4.8 RPG after hauling in five boards Thursday night.Â

Da'Kariya Jackson put together her best outing of the season at Tennessee Tech in just her second game played this season. Jackson, a native of Jacksonville, Arkansas, dumped in a season-high 11 points on 5-12 shooting. She played 25 minutes against TTU marking her highest minutes total of the season. She hauled in four rebounds, pushing her total to 11 rebounds on the season in two games (5.5 RPG).Â

Ainaya Williams recorded double-digit points for the fourth-straight game on Thursday night. Williams dumped in 12 points on 4-9 shooting (44.4%) and was an impressive 4-6 at the charity stripe (67%). On the season, Williams is averaging 11.7 PPG and is shooting nearly 50-percent from the field this year (49.3%).Â

The Redhawks have taken advantage of their trips to the foul line through nine games this season. SEMO ranks third in the OVC in free throws made per game (15.67) and rank 33
rd in the country in the same category. Center
Ainaya Williams leads the club with 35 made free throws this season, averaging 4.0 made free throws per game.Â

SEMO has also done a great job of just getting to the foul line in the first nine games of the season. The Redhawks rank second in the OVC in free throw attempts per game with 23.22 and rank 17

Raissa Nsabua has been the Redhawks' leading facilitator so far this season creating opportunities for her teammates. Nsabua has dished out a team-high 33 assists in just eight games played this year. She ranks fourth in the OVC in assists per game (4.1) and ranks 105
th in the country in APG. As a team, SEMO ranks fifth in the OVC in assists having dished out 117 through nine games (13.0 APG).Â

Freshman
Zoey Rixter has continued to be a force on the glass for the Redhawks through nine games. The Memphis, Tennessee-native has played in all nine games this season and has made six-straight starts having hauled in 55 total rebounds. She is averaging 6.1 RPG after grabbing a team-high seven rebounds against TTU on Thursday night. She ranks 13
th in the OVC in rebounding and hauled in a season-high four offensive rebounds Thursday night.Â

Make Things Difficult
Through nine games, SEMO Women's Basketball has done a great job of making it difficult on their opponents in and around the basket. The Redhawks rank third in the Ohio Valley Conference in blocked shots, having registered 35 blocks this season. SEMO is averaging 3.89 blocks per game led by center
Ainaya Williams who has 15 blocks this year (1.7 BPG).Â

Lexi McCully continues to be the Redhawks' leading scorer through nine games. Having made all nine starts, McCully is averaging 14.4 PPG and has scored 130 points this season. She is shooting 41.4-percent from the field, 33.3-percent from three-point range, and 75-percent at the foul line. She ranks fifth in the OVC in scoring trailing Mia Nicastro of Western Illinois (23.0 PPG).Â

Carmen Taylor has done a great job of creating steals for the Redhawks this season. Taylor, who ranks 16
th in the OVC in steals, has recorded 14 steals so far through nine games. She is averaging 1.6 steals per game and has at least one steal in seven-of-nine games in 2025-26.Â

The Redhawks have scored their most points in the fourth quarter, more than any other quarter this season. SEMO has scored 193 points in the fourth quarter, 39 more points than the next closest quarter (154 in first quarter).
