Gymnastics Finalizes 2026 Schedule

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Gymnastics has finalized the 2026 schedule, the program announced on Monday afternoon.

Entering her eighth season at the helm of SEMO Gymnastics, Head Coach Ashley Lawson had this to say about the schedule: "The 2026 schedule provides our team with a great opportunity to challenge ourselves individually and as a team. We are excited to compete twice in the Show Me Center this season which allows us to bring quality programs to Cape Girardeau. The season is right around the corner, and we cannot wait to get started."

The Gymhawks will compete in 14 total meets, including 11 in the regular season, beginning on Friday, January 9 in Cape Girardeau. SEMO will hold four regular season meets in Cape Girardeau including two at the Show Me Center and two at Houck Field House.

The 2026 season will begin inside the Show Me Center on Friday, January 9 when they host Central Michigan and Fisk marking the first-of-two meets at the Show Me Center.

SEMO will then go on the road to compete in the Windy City Invite on Friday, January 16th in Chicago, Illinois and will face Illinois State, Centenary, Wilberforce, and Fisk University in a five-team meet.

After a week break, SEMO will then travel to the University of Arkansas and will face the SEC member on Friday, January 23 in Fayetteville, Arkansas before returning to Cape the following Sunday.

On Sunday, February 1, the Gymhawks will host the SEMO Quad-Meet at the Show Me Center as Ball State, Illinois State, and Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Show Me Center at 1 p.m. The meet will feature the 'Pajama Jam' where a complimentary Rowdy 'Squishmallow' will be available to fans courtesy of Window World.

SEMO will return to action five days later when they host Bowling Green and Simpson College in a tri-meet marking the first competition at Houck Field House of the season. The meet will feature a Peace, Love Pink Out night at the field house at 6:30 p.m.

The Gymhawks will then head back out on the road on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14, when they take on fellow Midwest Independent Conference (MIC)-member Illinois State in Normal, Illinois. That meet is the beginning of a two-meet road trip as the Redhawks will return to Illinois to face Northern Illinois on Friday, February 20 in DeKalb, Illinois.

SEMO will round out its home schedule a week later Friday, February 27 when they host Long Island University at Houck Field House on senior night. The meet will also feature a 'Red Out' as fans are encouraged to wear red to support the Gymhawks.

Three-straight road trips will round out the 2026 regular season for the Gymhawks with trips to Iowa (Mar. 6), Arizona (Mar. 13), and Arizona State (Mar. 15). The meets will be back-to-back quad-meets with Central Michigan and Northern Illinois at Iowa, Ohio State and Texas Woman's at Arizona before rounding out the schedule with a tri-meet with Utah State at Arizona State.

The Gymhawks will then compete in the postseason first at the 2026 MIC Championship Meet hosted this season by Illinois State on Friday, March 20.
