Redhawks Return Home to Face Southern Indiana Thursday & Friday
Southeast Missouri Volleyball (10-6, 3-1 OVC) returns to Cape Girardeau after a three-match road swing to host Southern Indiana (6-10, 2-2 OVC) this Thursday & Friday to continue OVC play. The Redhawks and Screaming Eagles will face off at 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, respectively. 
 
Alumni Day
Friday afternoon's match marks the annual 'Alumni Day' for the Southeast Missouri Volleyball program. Former players are welcome back to enjoy volleyball at Houck Field House where pizza and soft drinks will be available for alumni on the platform above the court. There will also be a special recognition of former alumni in between sets two and three on Friday. Following the match, join SEMO Volleyball inside Houck Stadium for a special showing of the final two sets of the Iowa vs. SEMO match on the videoboard. 
 
Series History
The Redhawks and Screaming Eagles will meet for the 11th & 12th times this week on the volleyball court. A season ago, the Redhawks split with USI in Evansville, Indiana with the Redhawks winning the opening match before dropping the series finale in five sets. The Redhawks hold an overall series lead of 8-2. 
 
Road Victories
SEMO Volleyball is coming off an undefeated trip to Cookeville, Tennessee where the Redhawks dominated Tennessee Tech in four sets in back-to-back matches. SEMO's offense was powered by junior Lucy Arndt who finished the two-match week with 26 kills on 78 total attacks, with just nine errors, and a .218 hitting-percentage. SEMO took advantage of TTU defensively as the Golden Eagles committed 30 service errors and hit just .176 over two matches. 
 
Get Blocked
This past week at Tennessee Tech, the Redhawks defense was on full display at the net over two matches. SEMO recorded 20 blocks as a team, averaging 2.50 blocks per set, compared to just 11 from TTU (1.38 BPS). The middle blocker duo of Alaina Lester and Kara Oxenknecht were on fire, turning in 15 block assists between the two of them. Sophomore Marin Johnson recorded an impressive four solo blocks over both matches. 
 
Another Member
Sophomore Megan Holder became the third Redhawk this season to eclipse the 1,000-career mark. Holder entered the first match against TTU with 995 career assists, with five assists in the opening frame she recorded her 1,000th career assist. She now has 1,024 career assists heading into the week. 
 
Leading Attacker
Middle blocker Kara Oxenknecht is currently the leader in attack percentage for the Redhawks. Through 16 matches, Oxenknecht has an impressive .391 hitting-percentage and is averaging 1.34 kills-per-set. She has 63 kills on 138 total attacks and has recorded just nine errors. 
 
Top 10 Libero
Junior Nina Schuberth ranks in the top 10 in two different categories in the Ohio Valley Conference. She currently ranks eighth in the league in service aces with 23 aces in 63 sets played (0.37 per set). She also ranks seventh in the OVC in total digs. In 63 sets played, Schuberth has totaled 242 total digs. Little Rock's Andrea Roman leads the league with 305 digs in 59 sets. 
 
Scoring Points
Outside hitter Lucy Arndt continues her dominance in attack for the Redhawks. In 63 total sets, Arndt has 223 kills which is second best in the OVC behind only M.E. Hargan of Morehead State (225). Arndt ranks third in the league in total points checking in at 261 points so far and is averaging 4.14 points per set. 
 
The Freshman
Freshman setter Ellie Burns burst on to the scene over the two matches in Cookeville last week. Burns, a Hudson, Wisconsin-native, played in all eight sets for the first time this season at TTU where she recorded career-highs for assists in both matches. In the first match, Burns recorded 13 assists before dishing out 30 assists in Friday's series finale. She upped her total to 56 total assists and is now averaging 4.31 assists per set. 
 
Double Double
Lucy Arndt affects the game on both sides of the net. This past week at TTU, Arndt recorded her eighth double-double of the season in the first match against Tennessee Tech where she recorded 10 kills and 11 digs. At Little Rock (9/27), Arndt recorded both of her season bests in kills and digs with 22 and 21, respectively. She has 223 total kills and 150 total digs in 2025. 
 
Rounding into Form
Outside hitter Reagan Nelson recorded her fifth match of the season with a perfect 1.000 reception percentage. In the second match at TTU, Nelson fielded 12 receptions without an error bringing her season reception-percentage to an impressive .953 in 50 sets played. She chipped in eight digs as well, her fourth highest total this season. 
 
The Wall
Sophomore Alaina Lester continues to make her presence known at the net for the Redhawks. In the second match at TTU, Lester tied her season-high of block assists with seven for the second time this season. She has 34 block assists on the season, and with her two solo blocks, she has 36.0 total blocks this season. 
 
Four Set Thrillers
At TTU, SEMO Volleyball recorded their first victories of the season in four sets. Coming into the week, the Redhawks were previously 0-1 in matches that ended in four sets with their only loss coming earlier this season to Weber State (9/12). The Redhawks took both matches against TTU in four sets and are now 2-1 overall when they play four sets. 
 
First Three Sets
The Redhawks are getting out of the gate well against their opponents this season, outscoring their opponents in all three of the opening frames. The Redhawks are winning the first set 371-349, the second set 377-343, and the third set 358-346. Overall, those numbers equate to a 1106-1038 advantage in the first three sets. 
 
Team Offense
Through 16 matches, the Redhawks are playing sound offensive volleyball. SEMO is currently hitting .219 compared to just .203 from their opponents. The offense has recorded 784 kills on 2306 total attacks and are averaging 12.44 kills-per-set.
