Volleyball Falls to Morehead State Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Southeast Missouri Volleyball (12-12, 4-6 OVC) fell to Morehead State (16-5, 10-0 OVC) in straight sets on Saturday at Houck Field House, with scores of 15-25, 19-25, 24-26. Despite the loss, the Redhawks recorded 8 service aces to match the Eagles' total.

First Set  
- The Eagles established early momentum with kills from M.E. Hargan and Amelia Nott, taking a 2-0 lead.  
- SEMO responded with a service ace from Reagan Nelson, leveling the score at 2-2.  
- The Eagles pulled ahead with a service ace by M.E. Hargan, extending their lead to 7-4.  
- The visitors maintained control, with Bailey Brashear contributing key kills as the Eagles closed the set 25-15.  

Second Set  
- The Redhawks started strong with a 4-1 lead, featuring a service ace from Ramiri Gardner and a kill by Lucy Arndt.  
- The Eagles responded with a series of successful plays, including two kills by Hollan Everett, taking an 8-6 advantage.  
- The visitors widened the gap to 17-12 with Sarah Heath's three consecutive kills, assisted by Sydney Sennett.  
- Despite late efforts from Southeast Mo. St., with kills by Marin Johnson and Katherine St. John, the Eagles secured the set 25-19 following a final kill by M.E. Hargan.  

Third Set  
- SEMO opened with a 3-1 lead, highlighted by Avery Torrey's kill and a block from Alaina Lester and Torrey.  
- The Eagles responded with a 5-1 run, including two kills from M.E. Hargan and a service ace, to take a 6-4 advantage.  
- Lucy Arndt's offensive efforts kept the set close, as she recorded multiple kills, including one that tied the score at 19-19.  
- In a tightly contested finish, the Eagles secured the set 26-24 with back-to-back kills from Hollan Everett.
