CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Gymnastics set a season-high team score on Friday night with a 193.750 in the home opening meet against Illinois State at Houck Field House.
Reigning Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week
Taylor Ingle led the Redhawks scoring a 38.150 and finishing second in the all-around. Illinois State's Mya Robinson won the all-around with a 38.575 as the Redbirds scored a 194.875 to win the meet.
Vault
The Gymhawks started the evening on the vault led by
Taylor Ingle who anchored the lineup with a 9.800 in the sixth spot. As a team, SEMO scored a 48.475 for the first rotation.
Sophomore
Jordan Napolitano recorded a 9.675 in spot two of the vault lineup in just her second meet of the season.
Madison Greene and
Joselene Hernandez recorded back-to-back 9.700s in spots three and four as
Ailey Kuehn scored a 9.600 in spot five.
Bars
SEMO turned to the bars for the second rotation finishing with a 47.700 led by freshman
Gracie Jones who set a career-high 9.775 in spot three for the Gymhawks.
Kailyn Hamilton led off the bars with a 9.675 before
Sydney Crouch followed up with a 9.525 in spot two.
Sophomore
Ava Johnston tied
Gracie Jones with her own 9.775 in the fifth spot for the Redhawks, setting a new season high.
After the end of the second rotation, the Gymhawks had a running score of 96.175
Beam
Senior
Nyah Reader recorded a season-high on the Beam to start the Redhawks as they turned in their second highest team score of the night on the third rotations.
Reader set her new season-high with a 9.775 to spark a huge run from the Gymhawks.
Ailey Kuehn and
Leah Parton turned in back-to-back scores of 9.700 or higher as the duo scored a 9.725 and 9.700, respectively. For Kuehn, her 9.725 set a new season-high on the beam.
Newcomer
Jaidan Kossuth set her own season-high with a 9.850 from spot five passing her previous high of 9.775 (1/20).
After the third rotation, the Redhawks had a running score of 144.950 heading into the final rotation.
Floor
Freshman
Anna Lee Phillips set her own season-high from spot one on the floor lineup as she recorded a 9.775 in just her fourth meet of the season.
Taylor Ingle anchored the lineup and turned in a 9.825 from the final spot on the floor as the Gymhawks recorded a 48.800 as a team.
Junior
Kailyn Hamilton tied her season best with a 9.775 in spot three, following freshman
Joselene Hernandez who recorded a 9.650 in the second spot.
