INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Paden Lewis placed first in the weight throw as Southeast Missouri track and field concluded day one of the Crossroads of America Invite with 23 top 20 finishes and three new PR's.
The Redhawks will be back tomorrow for the second day of the invite. The field and track events are both slated for a 10:00 a.m. start with the women's shot put and women's 60m hurdle finals. The last event is set for 1:15 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.
Alone Atop The Podium
Paden Lewis achieved a distance of 71' 4" to take gold in the weight throw. The senior finished ahead of 27 other athletes to stand alone atop the podium.
Top 10 finishes
Anna Thomason crosses the line at 8.62 to take ninth in the women's 60m hurdles, just .02 seconds from the record.
Tanner Koontz vaulted over a height of 16' 6.5" for eighth and a new PR in the pole vault.

Mattea Pearsall,
Erika Mellor, and
Layla Fliege ran the distance medley in 12:38.38 for sixth.
The men's distance medley team of Â

Louis Primeau,
Justin Splitt, and
Byron Sowerby finished with a time of 10:15.86 for fourth.
Aarion Jackson jumped for a mark of 23' 10.25" to take fifth in the men's long jump and a new PR, while
Kenyon Johnson jumped for a distance of 23' 2" (10th)
Notable Marks
In the women's weight throw
Makenzie Williams, Bailie Hux, and
Baylee Beard threw for distances of 60' 1" (12th), 56' 7.25" (17th), and 54' 4" (18th).
Clara Billing (PR) and
Brianna Dixon finished the 60m hurdle event in 8.89 for 15th and 16th.
With a time of 8.75,
Luis Schadlich placed 17th in the men's 60m hurdles. The freshman also finished in 12th (22' 10.5") in the long jump.
Breanna Miles raced around the track during the 60m for a time of 7.78 while also finishing with a time of 24.57 in the 200m (13th).
Dominic Revels clocked in a time of 7.07 in the men's 60m for 20th.
After clearing a height of 15' 6.5" in the pole vault
Sullivan Gleason was in 20th.
In the women's high jump
Brianna Dixon and
Molly Grohmann jumped over a height of 5' 4.5" for 11th and 16th.
Cole Bruenderman jumped for a distance of 22' 5.75" in the long jump for 15th.
