Redhawks Take on the Crossroads of America Invite Friday and Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri track and field travels to Indianapolis, Ind. for the Crossroads of America Invite Friday Jan. 24 through Jan. 25. The event will be held at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.
The meet will feature 16 Division One schools across eight different conferences, while also featuring one Division Two and Division three team.
On Friday the meet begins at 4:00 p.m. CT, with the women's weight throw. The running events start at 5:00 p.m. with the women's 60m huddle prelims. The last event is scheduled for 7:55 p.m. with the men's distance medley relay race.
On Saturday the field and track events are slated for at 10:00 a.m. start with the women's shot put and women's 60m hurdle finals. The last event is set for 1:15 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.
Records Broken
In the very first meet of the season Anna Thomason took home the gold medal in the pentathlon with 3643 total points breaking the previous record of 3580 set last year by Kaitlyn McGinnitey.
Nick Cimmarusti crossed the line at 8:33.92 to break the SEMO Student Recreation center 3000m record at the Redhawks Invite. The record was previously held by Nick Happe of Arizona State with a time of 8:38:00.

At the end of the indoor track season the top 16 performers from each event make it to the NCAA Indoor Championship. The sport is broken up into nine regions, SEMO is in the Midwest Region which includes all the Division One schools from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Southeast has 16 marks ranked in the top 50 of the country, 20 marks ranked in the top 25 of the Midwest Region, 13 marks ranked first in the OVC and 44 marks in the top five in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Cole Reinders ranks 50th nationally, eighth regionally, and first in the OVC in the 800m with a time of 1:51.39. The junior achieved this time at the Show-Me Showdown, Jan. 17th.
Kenyon Johnson ranks 49th (24' 4.25", 7th in the region) and 29th (50' 8.25", 4th in the region, 1st in OVC) in the long jump and triple jump in the NCAA, achieving these marks at the Redhawks Invite and Indiana Early Bird Meet.
Paden Lewis threw for distances of 59' 11.75" and 74' 6.25" in the shot put and weight throw to rank 34th and seventh in the NCAA, ninth and second in the Midwest region and first in the OVC in both events. The senior achieved both of these marks at the Show-Me Showdown.
Anna Thomason notched 3643 total points to rank 26th in the country, ninth regionally, and first in the OVC in the pentathlon. The multis athlete posted this mark at the Indiana Early Bird Meet, Dec. 13th.
In the men's and women's 55m Dominic Revels ranks seventh (6.32), Cole Bruenderman 25th (6.46), Breanna Miles 12th (7.18), and Sydney Burdine ranks 50th (7.39) in the NCAA. They all achieved this at the Redhawks Invite, Jan. 11th.
In the men's and women's 55m hurdles Marcus Gordon ranks 22nd (7.82), Luis Schadlich ranks 29th (7.97), Thomason ranks fourth (8.13), Brianna Dixon ranks seventh (8.22), Megan Aubuchon ranks 22nd (8.57), and Clara Billing ranks 24th (8.59). They all achieved this Jan. 11th at the Redhawks Invite.
Revels ranks 13th in the Midwest region and fifth in the conference in the 60m with a time of 6.80. The Freshman also ranks 17th (22.00) in the region in the 200m.
Miles ranks 22nd in the region and first in the conference in the 60m, crossing the line at 7.60. The senior also posted a time of 24.20 in the 200-meter for fifth in the region and first in the OVC.
Burdine is ranked 20th in the Midwest in the 400m with a time of 56.69.
Erika Mellor has a time of 2:16.75 in the 800-meter to be ranked first in the OVC.
Thomason also has a time of 8.62 in the 60m hurdles, ranking 16th in the region and first in the OVC.
Louis Primeau, Trey Mygatt, Micah Grawer, and Luis Schadlich combined for a time of 3:26.08 in the 4x400, ranking them 22nd in the region.
Miles, Burdine, Mattea Pearsall, and Laila Hardin put together a 4:01.14 ranking them 22nd in the Midwest region in the 4x400m dash.
Aarion Jackson is ranked 14th in the Midwest region in long jump, jumping a distance of 23' 7.25".
Bruenderman jumped for a distance of 23' 4.75" in long jump to be ranked 18th in the region. In the triple jump Bruenderman is ranked 24th with a mark of 45' 11.75".
Schadlich jumped 23' 1.75" to be ranked 25th in the Midwest.
Molly Grohmann cleared a height of 5' 7" to be ranked first in the conference in the high jump.
After vaulting over a height of 16' 4.75" Sullivan Gleason ranks 17th regionally and first in the OVC in the pole vault.
Billing cleared a height of 13' 1.5" to rank 17th in the Midwest region and first in the OVC in the pole vault.
Baylee Beard threw for a mark of 57' 4.75" to rank first in the OVC in the weight throw.
Athletes of the Week
Paden Lewis tabbed OVC Field Athlete of the Week for a third time this season. He placed first in both the weight throw and shot put events with marks of 74' 6 .25", 59' 11.75". The weight throw distance was a new personal record and ranks second in SEMO records, first in the OVC, and seventh in the NCAA. The shot put mark ranks first in the OVC and 34th in the nation.
Last Time Out
The Redhawks competed at the Show Me Showdown posting nine first place finishes, 52 top ten performances, and 12 new personal records.
Paden Lewis was holding the trophy in the men's weight throw and shot put, after throwing for a new personal record mark of 74' 6 .25" and a distance of 59' 11.75".

With a new PR and a time of 8:25.44 Noah Little takes the gold in the men's 3000m.
Baylee Beard stood alone on top of the podium in the women's shot put with an ending distance of 44' 7".
