Series HIstory
Southeast Missouri and Murray State meet for the 34th time Tuesday. MSU holds a 19-14 lead in the all-time series between the teams. SEMO won seven of the last 11 meetings between the teams.
Midweek Games
The Redhawks are 2-1 in midweek games in 2024. Southeast Missouri split a doubleheader with Missouri Valley Conference member Bradley (Mar. 12). SEMO won game one, 6-2, and dropped the nightcap, 5-1. The Redhawks beat #11 Missouri (Apr. 3), 1-0, for their other midweek victory. SEMO has 36 midweek wins with Mark Redburn as its head coach.
Redhawks Second in the OVC
Southeast Missouri recently took over sole possession of second place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with its series sweep of Lindenwood (Apr. 20-21). SEMO shutout the Lions in all three games en route to its third series sweep of the season. The Redhawks (15-6) are close behind Eastern Illinois (16-5) with six conference games remaining in 2024.

The Redhawks are on a season-long six-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 contests. Southeast Missouri's winning streak is currently the longest in the Ohio Valley Conference along with Tennessee State which also won their last six games.

Southeast Missouri improved its overall record to 21-21 following a 1-0 victory in its series finale against Lindenwood (Apr. 21). SEMO is one of five teams in the Ohio Valley Conference with over 20 wins in 2024. Eastern Illinois (32-13), UT Martin (26-19), Lindenwood (24-19) and Tennessee State (23-19) are the others.

Southeast Missouri has not allowed a run in 22-consecutive innings. SEMO recently shutout Lindenwood in three-straight games winning by scores of 1-0, 4-0, 6-0. Freshman
Maddie Carney won two games in the circle during that series. Carney threw the first complete game shutout of her career in game two allowing only two hits and striking out three in seven innings. In the series finale, Carney came out of the bullpen to toss four more scoreless innings with only three hits allowed in a 1-0 win.
About Murray State
Murray State is 10th in the 12-team Missouri Valley Conference. MSU is coming off a series loss to Evansville over the weekend. Offensively, the Racers are the worst in the MVC hitting just .225 as a team. MSU, however, is third in the MVC in pitching with a 2.58 ERA. Taylor Jackson is the Racers top offensive threat hitting .285 with 39 hits and 11 RBI.
