ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Gymnastics registered a 194.275 at the 2024 Midwest Independent Conference Championship Meet on Saturday evening at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
Illinois State placed third (195.100), Texas Woman's (195.875) in second, and Lindenwood (196.075) took home the top spot. Centenary (188.550) rounded out the group in fifth.
Sophomore
Taylor Ingle, the reigning MIC Gymnast of the Week, placed second overall in the all-around with a 39.100 trailing only LU's Jaly Jones who finished with a 39.125.
Madison Greene placed third overall in the Vault (9.850) and sixth overall on the floor (9.850). Freshman
Ava Johnston placed fourth overall on the Bars with her 9.775 and led the Gymhawks in the Bars rotation.
Floor
The Gymhawks started the championship off on the floor with a 48.800 team score, led by junior
Madison Greene with a 9.850 from the sixth and final spot in the lineup.
Sophomore
Kailyn Hamilton led off with a 9.700. The score is Hamilton's second-straight 9.700 or more after getting a 9.775 at Illinois last time out.
Taylor Ingle recorded the second-highest score in spot four with a 9.800 to keep the momentum solid through the lineup for the Redhawks. Fellow sophomore
Sydney Crouch went before Ingle, turning in a 9.700.
Senior
Lydia Webb followed Ingle with a 9.750 in spot five before Greene closed it out.
Vault
The Redhawks continued the strong start as the competition turned to the second rotation on Vault. As a team, SEMO registered a 48.750 and held a running score of 97.550 after two rotations.
Greene paced the way once again for the Gymhawks from the anchor spot, turning in a 9.850 her second of the meet. At the end of the second rotation, Greene was tied for the meet-lead on Vault with her score.
A pair of 9.750s from
Taylor Ingle and
Ailey Kuehn in spots one and two, respectively, got the rotation underway.
Freshman
Jordan Napolitano followed the sophomore duo with a 9.700 of her own, tying her second-highest total of the season.
Sophomore
Janelle Lopez made her first appearance in the meet in spot four with a 9.675. Senior
Lydia Webb followed at five with a 9.700.
The Redhawks would go on the bye after the conclusion of the Vault.
Bars
The Redhawks returned from the bye to the Bars for their third rotation and turned in a team score of 48.500. Freshman
Ava Johnston, narrowly missing a season-high (9.800), led the rotation with a 9.775 in the second spot of the lineup.
Ingle got the rotation started with a 9.700 in the leadoff spot prior to Johnston's routine.
Kailyn Hamilton followed the first two with a 9.700 of her own and the Redhawks started the rotation with three-straight 9.700s and higher.
Janelle Lopez and
Sydney Crouch rounded out the lineup with a 9.650 and 9.675, respectively, to bring rotation three to a close.
After the third rotation, SEMO was in fourth place with a 146.050 team score trailing Lindenwood with a 146.800.
Beam
The Gymhawks concluded championship meet on the Beam, led by
Taylor Ingle who finished with a 9.850 in the final spot of the Beam lineup. Ingle's score was her second 9.850 of the season.
Senior Anna Spller turned in a 9.750 in the fourth spot on her only event of the evening. The 9.750 for Speller matched a season-high and marked the third time she registered the score in 2024.
Sophomore
Anna Chodon led off the lineup with a 9.700 for the first score of the rotation. Her score marked the third of its kind this season for Chodon. Fellow Sophomore
Ailey Kuehn followed suit in spot two with the same score (9.700) to get the rotation going.
Madison Greene and
Lydia Webb registered a 9.000 and 9.225 in spots three and five, respectively.
As a team, SEMO scored a 48.225 on the Beam and concluded the meet with a 194.275.
