Gymhawks Travel to Illinois for Final Regular Season Meet
Southeast Missouri Gymnastics will travel to the University of Illinois for the Illinois Quad-Meet on Sunday, March 17, in Urbana-Champaign, Ill. Competition is slated to begin at 2 p.m., CT. and will feature the host-Illinois, No. 13 Missouri, and No. 21 Arizona.Â

Series History
All three of the teams that will compete against SEMO have a history with the Redhawks in previous competitions, including Missouri who SEMO most recently competed against and will mark the third meeting in 2024 with the Tigers. MU holds a 38-8 record all-time against SEMO. The Redhawks will meet Illinois for the 25
th time on Sunday afternoon as the Fighting Illini hold a 17-7 all-time lead. The most unfamiliar foe in the quad-meet, the Arizona Wildcats will face off with SEMO for just the fourth time. The Wildcats hold a 3-0 record against SEMO.Â

Going into the season finale, the Redhawks currently rank 57
th in the country according to roadtonationals.com and are currently fourth in the Midwest Independent Conference. SEMO ranks 64
th on Beam, 57
th on Vault, 52
nd on Bars, and 51
st on Floor. Illinois State currently leads the MIC and is ranked No. 39 with Lindenwood just behind them at No. 43. Texas Woman's is just five spots ahead of SEMO at No. 52, heading into the final week of the regular season.Â

High Scores
The Gymhawks have posted several high scores this season on all four events. On Vault,
Madison Greene has the highest score with a 9.875.
Lindsay Ockler posted a new SEMO all-time Bars routine score with a perfect 10.000 at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic. On Beam, senior
Lydia Webb has a team-high 9.925. Three Redhawks are tied at the top of the Floor routine as
Taylor Ingle, Greene, and Webb have all posted a 9.925 this season.Â

Southeast Missouri Gymnastics finished the Missouri Quad-Meet with a 193.150 on Sunday afternoon at the Hearnes Center.Â

The Denver Pioneers took home the top spot as they recorded a 197.625, edging the host by a narrow margin. Missouri ended the meet with a 197.375 for second place. New Hampshire finished third with a 195.250.Â

Lydia Webb and
Taylor Ingle competed in the all-around category, picking up sixth and seventh place finishes, respectively. Webb ended with a 38.800 as Ingle finished with a 38.650.Â

Beam
The Redhawks started the afternoon on the Beam, turning in a 47.500 as a team after the first rotation. Sophomore
Taylor Ingle led the group with a 9.800 in spot three of the lineup.Â

Seniors
Anna Speller and
Lydia Webb registered the second and third best rotation scores with a 9.725 and 9.525, respectively to round out SEMO's highest scorers.Â

Anna Chodon was in the leadoff spot in the Beam lineup, starting the group off with a 9.325.Â

Jordan Napolitano registered a 9.125 in spot two, as
Ailey Kuehn rounded out the group with a 9.100.Â

The Redhawks turned to the floor for rotation two and registered a 48.400 as a team in the second rotation. After two rotations, SEMO had a running score of 95.900.Â

Madison Greene led the Redhawks in the third rotation with a 9.775 in the final spot of the lineup, just like she did on the Floor routine. SEMO turned in a 48.500 team-score on the Vault.Â

Ailey Kuehn scored an impressive 9.725 in the second spot of the lineup, following
Taylor Ingle in spot one (9.575).Â

Back-to-back 9.725s, this one coming from Napolitano in the third spot of the rotation as the Redhawks were on their way to their best rotation score of the competition.

Lydia Webb recorded a 9.700 in spot five. Junior
Janelle Lopez rounded out the scoring with her 9.550 in spot four.Â

The final rotation of the afternoon came on the Bars, as the Redhawks registered their meet-high 48.750, led by
Lydia Webb with a 9.825.Â

Janelle Lopez recorded a 9.800 in the fifth spot of the rotation to continue the high scoring from the Redhawks on Bars.Â

SEMO recorded three-straight 9.675s to start the rotation beginning with freshman
Ava Johnston.
Taylor Ingle and
Kailyn Hamilton followed behind as the pair recorded the same score.Â

Sydney Crouch anchored the lineup and turned in a 9.775 for the third highest and final score of the rotation.

Scouting The Opponent
The Fighting Illini play host with a 14-11 overall record, ranking 30th in the nation and a 4-5 BIG 10 record for fifth in the conference.

Most recently they placed third at the Alabama Quad meet with an overall score of 196.075, losing to Minnesota and Alabama.

During the meet graduate student Mia Takekawa scored a 9.950 on bars, to split the event win.

Arielle Ward broke her career-high on vault with a 9.925, for second place.

IU ranks 30th on the vault and beam, 20th on the uneven bars, and 39th on the floor, with an average overall score of 196.294 and a season high score of 196.850.

Senior Abby Meuller is the highest ranked gymnast at 52 with an average score 39.073 and a season high of 39.275.

Missouri
The Tigers enter the meet with a 10-6 (2-5 SEC) overall record, posting a 197.375 to place second behind Denver at the Mizzou Quad most recently.

Mizzou compiled 11 routines of 9.9 or better, the most by the team this season.

MU shattered its program bars record with a 49.600, breaking the mark of 49.500 at the meet. On the rotation all six Tigers scored above a 9.875.

Graduate student Sienna Schreiber and senior Mara Titarsolej , produced a score of 9.950 to share the event title.
Â
The Tigers recorded their highest floor score of the season and second highest overall with 49.625. Schreiber and freshman Kennedy Griffin led the way with a pair of 9.950s to share the event title.

MU ranks 13th in the nation for the fourth consecutive week. The tigers average an overall score of 197.135 with a season best score of 197.525.

Arizona
The Wildcats come into the meet with a 7-7 (2-5 PAC 12) overall record, winning their most recent meet against Southern Connecticut State 196.900 to 192.725.

Alysen Fears earned a career high of 39.475 in the all-around. The junior won the vault and beam events with two scores of 9.900.

Elena Deets earned a 9.925 to win the balance beam and Caroline Herry achieved a 9.875 to win the floor exercise.

AU ranks 21st in the nation with an average score of 196.580 and a season high of 197.000.Â

The wildcats have high scores of 49.225 on the vault, 49.475 on the uneven bars, 49.625 on the beam, and 49.45 on the floor.

With averages on the vault (9.814), beam (9.805), bars (9.800), floor (9.745), and posting an average score of 39.108 in the all-around, Fears ranks 37th in the NCAA.
