FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Southeast Missouri (4-11) dropped two games at the Wooo Pig Classic Friday. The Redhawks fell to Summit League preseason favorite South Dakota State, 9-0, in five innings and #16 Arkansas, 5-0.

Reigning Summit League Pitcher of the Year Tori Kniesche recorded eight strikeouts in a complete game shutout during the first game of the day.

Kniesche (5-4) threw her fourth complete game and threw her second shutout of the season.

SDSU struck quickly in the bottom of the first inning when it loaded the bases and capitalized on two walks, a pair of singles and an error to take a 3-0 lead.Â

The Jackrabbits, after coming up empty with the bases loaded in the second inning, loaded the bases again in the bottom of the fourth. Three walks and an error helped SDSU get two more runs and pull ahead, 5-0.

SDSU loaded the bases a fourth time, this time with no outs in the fifth.

The Redhawks' third error of the game allowed the Jackrabbits' leadoff hitter to reach base for the fourth time. Rozelyn Carillo singled and a wild pitch put runners at first and third. Brooke Dumont walked and Mia Jarecki then hit
Willow Van Haren's fifth offering for a walk-off grand slam ending the game in five innings.

SEMO had three hits with
Brooklyn Saysoff,
Tori Bradley and
Paige Halliwill each getting a single. The Redhawks left six runners on base and committed three errors.

Tegan Livesay (0-3) took the loss. Livesay allowed seven runs on five hits, walked six and struck out two in four innings.

A four-run fifth inning keyed Arkansas' win in the nightcap.

The Razorbacks started the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run by Cylie Halvorson. Back-to-back two-out hits, including a RBI-double by Reagan Johnson and two-RBI single by Bri Ellis extended UA's lead to 5-0.

UA first pulled ahead with a leadoff solo home run by Hannah Gammill in the third.

Morgan Leinstock (4-0) picked up the win. Leinstock went the distance allowing only three hits, striking out six and walking one in seven innings.

Paytience Holman (2-3) suffered the loss. Holman scattered six hits, gave up five runs and walked one in five innings. Four of those hits went for extra bases.

Halliwill, Wrigley and
Tatum Gerwitz singled for SEMO's three hits.

The Redhawks continue play at the Wooo Pig Classic with two more games Saturday. SEMO faces South Dakota State (10 a.m.) and Florida Atlantic (12:30 p.m.).
