PADUCAH, Ky. – Southeast Missouri (1-3) recorded its first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Lindsey Wilson College (0-1) Tuesday afternoon.
SEMO claimed the doubles point and posted wins in four of the six singles spots.
In doubles play, Daniela Hlacikova and Juliette Talieu won at the top of the lineup. Vivian Lai and Trinity Calinescu were victorious at the No. 2 position and Maja Bajorek and Lera Valeeva swept the point with a 5-2 win at No. 3.
Hlacikova (No. 1), Calinescu (No. 2), Talieu (No. 3) and Lai (No. 4) all posted straight set singles wins. Hlacikova beat Anastasiia Vorobiova, 6-2, 6-1, and Calinescu defeated Mariangeles Mateu, 6-3, 6-1. Talieu took down Darija Mladenovic, 6-1, 6-3, and Lai cruised by A. Ivanchenko, 6-2, 6-0.
Calinescu, who was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career, leads the Redhawks with a 3-1 singles record this spring.
SEMO is back in action when it travels to Middle Tennessee Friday.
