Redhawks Back in the Music City
• Southeast Missouri makes its second trip to Nashville, Tennessee, this time when it travels to Lipscomb Thursday.
• SEMO will play Lipscomb in its earliest scheduled game of the season. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m., CT at Allen Arena.
• The reason for the early contest is because it's the Bisons School Education Day.
• The Redhawks were last in the Music City when they faced SEC member Vanderbilt on Nov. 10.
• SEMO plays Lipscomb for the third time in its program history. All three of those meetings are with Brad Korn at the helm.
Series Notes
• Southeast Missouri's all-time series with Lipscomb is tied at 1-1.
• SEMO and LU played a home-and-home series over a two-day span during the 2020-21 campaign.
• The Redhawks beat the Bisons, 82-77, on Dec. 7 in Cape Girardeau and dropped a 80-74 overtime game on Dec. 9 in Nashville that year.
3-Pointer Streak
• The Redhawks have made at least one 3-pointer in 496 consecutive games.
• The last time Southeast Missouri did not make a 3-pointer was vs. Western Illinois (0-of-6) on Dec. 10, 2008.
• SEMO has made 60-of-189 threes at a 32 percent rate this season.
• The Redhawks drained 11 or more threes in three of their first seven contests.
Redhawks Crush Kansas City
• Southeast Missouri picked up its second win in three games when it blew by Kansas City, 80-59, on Nov. 30.
• SEMO used a 16-2 run to get ahead of the Roos early and never looked back.
• The Redhawks led by as many as 26 points before polishing off their third victory of the season.
• It was SEMO's 12th by more than 20 points under Head Coach Brad Korn.
• The 21-point victory is also the largest the Redhawks have against a Division I opponent this year.
Washington, Jr. Tabbed OVC Newcomer of the Week
• Southeast Missouri won its first Ohio Valley Conference award of the season when Teddy Washington, Jr. was named Co-Newcomer of the Week on Dec. 2.
• A native of Blytheville, Arkansas, Washington, Jr. had a season-high 28 points in SEMO's win over Kansas City (Nov. 30).
• He knocked down a season-best seven 3-pointers, added five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes.
• Washington, Jr.'s seven threes are the second-most in a game by an OVC player this season.
• It was the second 20-point game for Washington, Jr. in 2024-25.
Redhawks Third in the Nation Defending the Three
• The Redhawks rank third in the nation in 3-point percentage defense out of the 355 NCAA Division I teams.
• Opponents are shooting just 22.8 percent from downtown against Southeast Missouri this season.
• SEMO has held opponents to five or less 3-pointers made in five of its seven games in 2024-25.
Washington, Jr. is Rolling
• Newcomer Teddy Washington, Jr. has scored double figures in six-straight games.
• Washington, Jr. recently scored a season-high 28 points against Kansas City (Nov. 30).
• He scored over 20 points for the second time this year. Washington, Jr. also dropped in 25 against Chattanooga (Nov. 17).
• Washington, Jr. turned in a double-double in back-to-back starts with 18 points and 12 rebounds vs. Crowley's Ridge (Nov. 13) and 25 points and 10 boards against Chattanooga (Nov. 17).
• He followed that up with 19 points at Central Arkansas (Nov. 21), 15 vs. UNC Asheville (Nov. 22) and 28 vs. Kansas City (Nov. 30).
• Washington, Jr. is Southeast Missouri's leading scorer with 18.3 points per game and tops the Redhawks with 7.1 rebounds per contest, 11 steals and 18 three-pointers made.
• He ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring behind UT Martin's Josue Gullon (18.5 ppg).
Stacker Returns
• After missing the first six games due to injury, Braxton Stacker made his 2024-25 debut against Kansas City on Nov. 30.
• Stacker came off the bench to score 10 points and grab three rebounds in 17 minutes.
• He also made 3-of-4 free throws and knocked down one 3-pointer against the Roos.
Cole, Jr. and Terry Reach Double Figures
• Troy Cole, Jr. and Brendan Terry each scored double figures for the first time in their Southeast Missouri careers.
• Terry and Cole, Jr. finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively, against Kansas City (Nov. 30).
• Cole, Jr. played 17 minutes off the bench, made 5-of-7 field goals and pulled down five rebounds.
• Terry hit a near-perfect 6-of-7 field goals and grabbed six boards in 23 minutes.
Balanced Scoring
• Southeast Missouri has had three or more players get double-digits in the scoring column during six of its first seven games this season.
• Guards BJ Ward and Teddy Washington, Jr. each lead the way with six double figure scoring games.
• Four Redhawks, including Washington, Jr. (18.3 ppg), Ward (13.1 ppg), Rob Martin (11.6 ppg) and Braxton Stacker (10.0 ppg) are averaging double-digit points.
