Redhawks Throttle William Woods 102-50 on Tuesday Afternoon

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (3-8, 1-1 OVC) extended their winning streak to two games with a 102-50 victory over William Woods on Tuesday afternoon from the Show Me Center.
 
The Redhawks surpassed 100 points for the first time in a game since all the way back in 2017 against Eastern Illinois (Feb. 11, 2017). 
 
Four Redhawks finished in double figures led by Zoe Best and Skylar Barnes who each scored 22 points. Indiya Bowen recorded 17, followed by Jariyah Williamson with 11. 
 
Williamson finished with a team-high 11 rebounds and with her 11 points, she recorded her first double-double of her SEMO career. As a team, SEMO controlled the glass outrebounding the Owls by a 45-27 margin. 
 
As a team, SEMO shot an impressive 41-for-84 from the field (49-percent) and finished 16-for-46 from behind the three-point line (35-percent). The Redhawks were also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. 
 
SEMO dished out 25 assists as a team, recording an assist on 25-of-41 made baskets. Lexi McCully led the team with eight assists, a season-high for McCully. 
 
Center Ainaya Williams returned to the floor after missing the last three games, as she turned in six points and grabbed four rebounds. She recorded a team-high two blocks as she has now recorded a block in every game she has played this season. 
 
Freshman Alex McGarrah played a season-high 15 minutes on Tuesday and recorded a career-high nine points. McGarrah finished 3-for-7 from the field, with all her attempts coming from three-point range. 
 
The Redhawks utilized 30 points off the bench, scored 50 points in the paint, and turned 24 turnovers into 31 points on the offensive end. 
 
Looking Ahead
The Redhawks will return to Ohio Valley Conference action on Thursday, January 2, in Nashville, Tennessee. SEMO will face Tennessee State at 5 p.m. from the Gentry Center.
