CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Local standout P.J. Farmer signed with the Southeast Missouri men's basketball team Tuesday.
Farmer, a versatile guard who is one of the top recruits in the state, has been actively pursued by SEMO Head Coach
Brad Korn throughout his high school career.
"PJ has had a lot of praise from a young age about his game but just as much about his character and the young man his family has raised him to be," said Korn. "He possesses natural leadership abilities and impacts winning in a multitude of ways. PJ is as tough as they come and a true competitor who can play all guard positions if needed."
Farmer, who also garnered offers from major Division I school such as Missouri and Ole Miss, averaged 14.3 points, 7.9 assists, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game at Sikeston High School as a junior. He earned Class 5 All-State honors helping lead the Bulldogs to regular-season and tournament titles, and an appearance in the state quarterfinals.
"All PJ has done from last season's run at Sikeston to his summer AAU team (MPJ Elite) is win at a high level," added Korn. "He is poised to have a tremendous senior season for Coach [Gregg] Holifield and will bring with him to Cape Girardeau the toughness, passing and desire to win every day to make the SEMO program and its teammates better."
Prior to Sikeston, Farmer played his sophomore season at Charleston High School, where he led the Bluejays to a 22-7 record and averaged 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 4.2 steals per game. As a freshman at Charleston, he finished with 14.3 points per game en route to helping the team win the Class 3 State Championship.
Farmer joins fellow Sikeston High School teammate Trace Sadler in the Redhawks 2025-26 signing class.
