Redhawks Head to Arkansas for Two Games
•    Southeast Missouri will head to Conway, Arkansas for two games as part of a multiple team event this week.
•    SEMO faces Central Arkansas Thursday and UNC Asheville Friday at the Farris Center in Conway, Arkansas. Both games will tip at 6:30 p.m., CT.
•    All three teams have one win this young 2024-25 season. SEMO and Central Arkansas are each 1-3 and UNC Asheville is 1-2.
•    The Redhawks will be on the road for the third time and are currently 0-2 outside of Cape Girardeau.
•    SEMO dropped its first two games of the season at Bradley (Nov. 4) and Vanderbilt (Nov. 10).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Series Notes
•    Southeast Missouri leads its all-timer series against Central Arkansas, 10-6.
•    SEMO beat UCA each of the last three meetings between the teams. 
•    The Redhawks edged the Bears, 70-68, when Aquan Smart made a game-winning shot with seven seconds left in Cape Girardeau last season.
•    SEMO is 1-4 against UCA at the Farris Center and last won there on Nov. 22, 2014 (74-68).
•    This year marks the first time the Redhawks play Big South Conference member UNC Asheville.

3-Pointer Streak
•    The Redhawks have made at least one 3-pointer in 494 consecutive games.
•    The last time Southeast Missouri did not make a 3-pointer was vs. Western Illinois (0-of-6) on Dec. 10, 2008.
•    SEMO has made 35-of-109 threes at a 32.1 percent rate this season.
•    The Redhawks drained six or more 3-pointers in five-straight games dating back to 2023-24.

About Central Arkansas
•    Central Arkansas dropped three of its first four games.
•    UCA's only win thus far is a 108-49 victory non-Division I member Randall University.
•    The Bears were picked 11th in the 12-team Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Poll.
•    UCA is second in the ASun in assist/turnover ratio with 63 assists and 50 turnovers for a 1.26 ratio.
•    Layne Taylor is the Bears' top scorer. Taylor ranks ninth in the ASun with 14.8 points per game.
•    UCA is the alma mater of six-time NBA Champion formerly with the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers, Scottie Pippen.

About UNC Asheville
•    Of the three teams in Conway this week, UNC Asheville is the only one with a NCAA Division I win so far.
•    UNCA beat Atlantic Sun member North Florida, 89-75, for its first victory of 2024-25.
•    The Bulldogs were voted fourth in the Big South Preseason Poll behind High Point, Winthrop and Longwood.
•    UNCA is last in the league in scoring defense and scoring margin (-16) giving up 89 points per contest.

Washington, Jr. Heating Up
•    Newcomer Teddy Washington, Jr. has scored double figures in three-straight games.
•    Washington, Jr. recently went over 20 points for the first time this season when he finished with 25 against Chattanooga (Nov. 17).
•    He turned in a double-double in each of his last two starts with 18 points and 12 rebounds vs. Crowley's Ridge (Nov. 13) and 25 points and 10 boards against Chattanooga (Nov. 17).
•    Washington, Jr. is Southeast Missouri's leading scorer with 16.5 points per game and tops the Redhawks with 7.5 rebounds per contest and seven steals.

Martin Pours it On
•    For the first time this season, point guard Rob Martin reached double figures in the scoring column. 
•    Martin tied a career-high 29 points to lead Southeast Missouri against Chattanooga (Nov. 17).
•    It was the 20th double-digit game of his career and fourth game with 20 or more points. 

Double-Double
•    Southeast Missouri players have accounted for three double-doubles through four games this season.
•    BJ Ward has one double-double and Teddy Washington, Jr. has two.
•    In 2023-24, not one player had a double-double for SEMO during the entire season.

20-Point Scorers
•    The Redhawks had a 20-point scorerin each of its last three contests.
•    BJ Ward registered 22 points at Vanderbilt (Nov. 10), Damarion Walkup dropped in 23 vs. Crowley's Ridge (Nov. 13) and both Rob Martin (29) and Teddy Washington, Jr. (25) went over 20 points vs. Chattanooga (Nov. 17).

Ward Starts Strong
•    BJ Ward is off to a nice start this 2024-25 season after scoring double figures in all four games.
•    Ward was in the starting lineup the last three contests.
•    He began the year with 17 points off the bench at Bradley (Nov. 4) and followed that up with a career-high 22 in his first start of the season at Vanderbilt (Nov. 10). Three days later, Ward registered 11 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double vs. Crowley's Ridge College (Nov. 13). Most recently, he scored 13 vs. Chattanooga (Nov. 17).
•    Ward scored double figures in four-straight games for the first time in his career.
•    He ranks second on the team in scoring with 15.8 points per game.
•    He is shooting and Ohio Valley Conference best 58.5 percent (24-of-41) from the field with a 52.4 percent clip (11-of-21) from 3-point range.
•    Ward knocked down a career-best six 3-pointers against the Commodores.
