Redhawks Close Home Stand vs. Chattanooga
•   Southeast Missouri closes out its brief two-game home stand when it hosts Southern Conference member Chattanooga Sunday. Tip is set for 2 p.m., CT at the Show Me Center.
•   SEMO will play its second afternoon game of the season when the Mocs come to Cape Girardeau.
•   Chattanooga will play the Redhawks for the first time at the Show Me Center.
•   The Mocs are on the road for the fourth time in their first five games of the 2024-25 season.
•   Chattanooga is presently the only winless team in the 10-team Southern Conference men's basketball standings.                                                                                                                                      Â
Series Notes
•   Southeast Missouri and Chattanooga meet for the fourth time.
•   SEMO holds a slight 2-1 edge in the all-time series.
•   Each of the first three matchups have been played outside of Cape Girardeau.
•   The Redhawks beat the Mocs, 77-65, in Chattanooga on Nov. 18, 2012 and, 63-42, during a tournament in Mobile, Alabama on Nov. 17, 2018. SEMO also fell to the Mocs, 72-56, in their last meeting on Nov. 26, 2023 (Chattanooga).
3-Pointer Streak
•   The Redhawks have made at least one 3-pointer in 493 consecutive games.
•   The last time Southeast Missouri did not make a 3-pointer was vs. Western Illinois (0-of-6) on Dec. 10, 2008.
•   SEMO has made 29-of-83 threes at a 34.9 percent rate.
•   BJ Ward leads the Ohio Valley Conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.625) and ranks second in 3-point field goals made (3.3 per game).
Home-Opening Beatdown
•   Southeast Missouri picked up its first win of the season with a dominating 93-38 home-opening victory over Crowley's Ridge College (Nov. 13).
•   The +55 margin of victory was the largest under Head Coach Brad Korn. It was also the second time the Redhawks beat an opponent by 50 or more points with Korn at the helm.
•   It was SEMO's largest win since the Redhawks beat Central Baptist, 118-56 (+62), on Nov.11, 2013.
•   The Redhawks improved to 25-9 in home-openers since joining the NCAA Division I ranks in 1991-92.
•   SEMO also began its home slate with a win for the ninth time in 13 years and posted a victory for the 16th time in 20 home-opening contests.
Double-Digit Threes
•   For the second-straight game, Southeast Missouri made 10 or more 3-pointers.
•   SEMO drained a season-high 12 threes at Vanderbilt (Nov. 10) and followed that up with 11 three days later vs. Crowley's Ridge College (Nov. 13).
•   The Redhawks are third in the Ohio Valley Conference with 29 three-pointers made through three games this season.
•   Damarion Walkup (6), TJ Biel (6) and BJ Ward (10) combined for 22 of those makes.
•   In 2023-24, SEMO made 10 or more 3-pointers just four times in 31 games. The Redhawks are already halfway to that mark in only three contests.
Korn at the Show Me Center
•   Brad Korn finished with a winning record at home each of his first four years as Southeast Missouri's head coach.
•   Korn is 33-22 all-time at the Show Me Center.
•   The Redhawks went 7-6 (2020-21), 8-5 (2021-22), 9-4 (2022-23) and 8-7 (2023-24) at home since Korn took over as head coach.
•   SEMO is 1-0 in Cape Girardeau this year.
Double-Double
•   Guards Teddy Washington, Jr. and BJ Ward became the first players to get a double-double this season.
•   Washington, Jr. had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Ward finished with 11 points and 10 boards against Crowley's Ridge (Nov. 13).
•   It was the first double-double of both Washington, Jr. and Ward's careers.
20-Point Scorers
•   Southeast Missouri had a 20-point scorer in each of its last two contests.
•   BJ Ward registered 22 points at Vanderbilt (Nov. 10) and Damarion Walkup dropped in 23 vs. Crowley's Ridge (Nov. 13).
•   Those marks are career-highs for both Ward and Walkup.
Ward Starts Strong
•   BJ Ward is off to a nice start this 2024-25 season after scoring double figures in each of his first three games.
•   Ward was in the starting lineup the last two contests.
•   He began the year with 17 points off the bench at Bradley (Nov. 4) and followed that up with a career-high 22 in his first start of the season at Vanderbilt (Nov. 10). Three days later, Ward registered 11 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double vs. Crowley's Ridge College (Nov. 13).
•   He scored double figures three games in a row for the first time in his career.
•   Ward enters Sunday's game as SEMO's top scorer with 16.7 points per contest.
•   He is shooting 61.3percent (19-of-31) from the field and 62.5 percent (10-of-16) from 3-point range.
•   Ward knocked down a career-best six 3-pointers against the Commodores.
•   He is tied for fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring, tied for second in field goal percentage, first in 3-point field goal percentage (.625) and second in 3-point field goals made (3.3 per game).
•   Nationally, Ward ranks 22nd in 3-point field goal percentage.
About Chattanooga
•   Chattanooga comes to Cape Girardeau for the first time Sunday.
•   The Mocs, members of the Southern Conference, are currently 1-3 this season.
•   Southeast Missouri is the second-straight Ohio Valley Conference school Chattanooga will face. The Mocs recently picked up their first win of the season over Morehead State (76-62, Nov. 14).
•   Prior to that, the Mocs began the season with three-straight losses to USC (77-51, Nov. 4), Saint Mary's (86-74, Nov. 7) and Austin Peay (67-61, Nov. 11).
•   Bash Wieland leads Chattanooga with 22.5 points per game in two starts. Wieland also leads the Southern Conference in scoring.
