CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri State Athletic Training and members of the Cape Girardeau health community went through emergency injury scenarios Tuesday afternoon on campus.
Members of Southeast Health partnered with the Redhawks athletic training staff and students of the area to develop skills in the instance that a cardiac, spinal, or head trauma occurs during competition.
Athletic training conducted scenarios at the Show-Me Center, Rosengarten Practice Facility, and Houck Field to better understand how injuries happen, how to assess the situation, and the action plan to ensure the best possible care for Redhawks student-athletes and their opponents.
On hand were members from Southeast Health, the City of Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau Fire Department, Southeast Missouri athletic training, and Cape County Private Ambulance.
