CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri (12-2, 3-0) matched its longest winning streak in program history when it completed a 7-0 victory over Tennessee State (3-17, 0-2) Saturday afternoon at the John C. Bierk Tennis Complex.
SEMO ran its winning streak to 11 matches tying its other 11-match winning streak which came during the 2021 campaign.
The Redhawks did not allow a point for the seventh time this season and remained undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference action.
SEMO started things off by winning the doubles point with victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
In singles action, the Redhawks won in straight sets in all six positions.
Daniela Hlacikova beat Warona Mdlulwa, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1.
Romana Tarajova defeated Naomi Von Bose, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 2.
Ksenia Shikanova upended Daniela Koleva, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 3.
Vivian Lai took down Aroa Castillo, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4. Trinity Calinescu beat Franka Sindicic, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 5. And,
Teona Velkoska beat Mikalia Coleman, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 6.
SEMO handed the Tigers their 17
th loss against NCAA Division I foes this year.
The Redhawks remain home to host Arkansas State on Apr. 5.
