Last Time Out
The Redhawks used a five run first inning to defeat Evansville (16-8, 3-0 MVC) on Wednesday evening by a final score of 10-4.

The Redhawks victory snapped a nine-game winning streak for Evansville.

SEMO scored five runs in the first inning thanks in large part to the first three batters of the game getting hit by three-straight pitches by Evansville RHP Willard Peterson (0-1).

Carlos Aranda, Jevon Mason, and Josh Cameron were on base in the blink of an eye as third baseman Chance Resetich got the game going with an RBI single to score Aranda.

A one-out Brett Graber double into the left-center field gap to plate Mason and Cameron to stretch the early lead to 3-0 with just one out.

An RBI ground out by Peyton Leeper, and an RBI single by Caleb Rodgers gave SEMO a five-run lead before the Purple Aces came to bat.

Evansville right fielder Eric Roberts got a run back for UE on LHP Ethan Osborne's first pitch of the outing.

Osborne (3-3) took the win in the contest pitching three innings, allowing just one run on one hit.

Leeper hit his third home run of the season in the third inning. A two-run blast over the right field fence gave SEMO a 7-1 advantage.

Two runs in the eighth and a run in the ninth gave SEMO 10 runs to hold on for a 10-4 win to hand Evansville its second loss at German American Bank Field on the season.

RHP Eddie White had a nice day out of the bullpen. The right-hander relieved Osborne and pitched three complete innings, striking out two over 40 pitches. He surrendered just three hits.

Peyton Leeper led the Rehdawks offense going 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Chance Resetich and Brett Graber each registered a pair of hits and RBIs as the Redhawks had five different hitters record an RBI.

Yanluis Ortiz made his second career start in a Redhawk uniform behind the plate on Wednesday night.
