BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – LHP
Haden Dow was selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance on Sunday against Butler, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Dow tallied a career-high 10 strikeouts in 2-1 win over Butler on Sunday. It was the longest outing of his career, as he faced 27 batters and threw 105 pitches to pick up his first win of the season.
He retired the first 9 batters of the game before allowing a single to open the fourth. He allowed just a single in the fifth and a single in the seventh before leaving the game in the eighth.
Only one batter reached second base while he was in the game (an unearned run scored after he left the game).
For Dow, the weekly honor is the first of his SEMO career and he is the second Redhawk to win a weekly honor this season.
SIUE's Jake Bockenstedt was Dow's counterpart for the Co-Pitcher award.
The Redhawks will return to action on Tuesday, March 14, to take on Missouri State. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m., CT. at Hammons Field in Springfield, Mo.
