CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri's softball team has 43 games on its upcoming 2023 schedule, including 16 at the Southeast Softball Complex.
SEMO, picked second in this year's Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll, faces four teams (Chattanooga, Murray State, Ole Miss, Missouri State) that made the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
The Redhawks open the season at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 11-12). SEMO plays host to Saint Louis (Feb. 17) in a doubleheader to begin their home slate. After that, the Redhawks play five games each at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Ole Miss Classic in Oxford, Mississippi.
In Chattanooga, SEMO takes on UNLV (Feb. 24, Feb. 26), host Chattanooga (Feb. 24), Western Michigan (Feb. 25) and Akron (Feb. 25) before matching up with Missouri State (Mar. 3), Mount St. Mary's (Mar. 3, Mar. 4) and Ole Miss (Mar. 4-5) the next weekend.
The remainder of the Redhawks non-conference schedule includes midweek contests with Middle Tennessee (Away, Mar. 15), Southern Illinois (Home, Mar. 22; Away, Mar. 29) and former OVC member Murray State (Home, Apr. 19).
SEMO starts the OVC portion of its schedule at home with a three-game series against SIU Edwardsville (Mar. 11-12). First-year OVC member Southern Indiana (Mar. 25-26), Morehead State (Apr. 7-8) and UT Martin (Apr. 29-30) visit Cape Girardeau, as well.
The road part of the conference slate includes trips to Tennessee State (Mar. 18-19), Tennessee Tech (Apr. 1-2), first-year OVC member Lindenwood (Apr. 15-16) and Eastern Illinois (May 6-7).
This year's OVC Tournament returns to Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama May 10-13. This is the seventh year the tournament will be held at the neutral site in Oxford.
