Houck Field House - Southeast Missouri volleyball (20-9, 12-6 OVC) fell to Lindenwood (15-14, 11-7 OVC) in five sets by a final score 3-2 in the final regular season match of the 2023 season.
The Redhawks lost set one 22-25, then rallied back to win sets two and three 25-20 and 25-17. SEMO dropped the last two sets 25-19 and 15-13.
The five-set thriller lasted two hours and 26 minutes with seven lead changes and 16 ties.
Five Redhawks registered ten plus kills, with the most being 15 from Senior
Zoey Beasley. Beasley finished with a .216 clip going 15-37. The outside hitter recorded ten digs to finish with a double-double and four blocks as well.
Lucy Arndt and
Talia Gouard both registered 11 kills. The latter posted a team high hitting-percentage (.435), going 11 for 23. Gouard also led the team in blocks with six block assists while Arndt notched a team high four service aces and 13 digs.
Senior
Kaelyn O'Brien notched 12 kills on a .200 Hitting-percentage.
Izzy Lukens, the Redhawks setter, recorded a double-double with 46 assists and 13 digs. Lukens also notched two service aces and three kills on the night.
Tara Beilsmith continued her hot streak recording 40 digs. Beilsmith had an 100% reception percentage on 21 attempts, while also adding two service aces and three assist to the stat sheet.
SEMO out blocked the lions 11 to four and had 56 kills to their 58 but SEMO even notched a better attacking percentage with .186 compared to .155.
SEMO has now registered 10 or more OVC wins for the fifth-straight season.
The Redhawks will next compete in the 2023 OVC Championship Tournament next week on the campus of Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill. #2 SEMO will play #7 Western Illinois Monday, Nov. 20. Frist serve is slated for 4:00 p.m. CT. at Lantz Arena.
