CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Sophie Bussard scored 15 points and Jaliyah Green added 10 to lead Southeast Missouri (2-2) to a commanding 76-45 win over LeMoyne-Owen College Friday night at the Show Me Center.

With the win, SEMO improved to 2-0 at home this year in its first meeting with the Magicians.

Ahead 22-16 after the first 10 minutes, SEMO blew the game open with a big second quarter.

The Redhawks used an 18-2 run to take a 42-20 lead. Bussard scored eight of her 13 first-half points and Green added five during that surge which ended on a Green layup with 3:12 remaining.

SEMO dominated the second quarter by outscoring LeMoyne-College, 27-6, before heading into the locker room with a comfortable 49-22 lead at the intermission.

The Redhawks got a nice lift from their bench in the first half. SEMO's reserves contributed 24 points to account for nearly 50 percent of the scoring.

SEMO widened its lead to 30 (52-22) on a free throw by Tamia Stallings early in the third quarter.

Kennedi Watkins' layup off the bench later pushed the Redhawks margin to 74-43 at the 4:18 mark of the fourth quarter before SEMO polished off its second victory.

SEMO shot 46 percent (28-of-61) from the field and held LeMoyne-Owen to a 27 percent (16-of-60) clip. The Redhawks also outrebounded the Magicians, 44-31.
