Athletics Announces Re-Organization with Four Administrators Taking on New Roles

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Director of Athletics Brady Barke announced re-organization within Southeast Missouri's Department of Athletics Thursday. Nate Saverino, Jeff Honza, Kent Phillips and Betsy Wilcox were elevated to new positions with added responsibilities effective this month.
"We have some incredibly talented staff on our administrative team and this change provides an opportunity for them to grow professionally, while addressing some critical needs within our department," said Barke. "This is a really important time for SEMO Athletics and we are fortunate to be able to benefit from their experience and expertise as we continue to move our department forward."
Saverino, a graduate of SEMO, was named Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs. He will now serve as the sport administrator for gymnastics in addition to his other duties which include leading the Redhawks marketing, ticketing and creative media efforts as well as overseeing the Redhawks Club, baseball and volleyball programs. Saverino also handles planning for SEMO's fundraising events. He is in his 12th year with the Redhawks.
Honza was named Associate Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications where he will take on supervising SEMO's ESPN Broadcast and Video Production area to go along with sport oversight for softball, overseeing instant replay, leading public relations and coverage for the Redhawks 15 Division I sports and coordinating statistics management. Honza is in his 14th year at SEMO.
A SEMO graduate and standout on the golf team, Phillips moves to Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Event Management. He will be in charge of administering game contracts and coordinating officials in addition to supervising projects and maintenance for SEMO's athletic facilities and managing home events. Phillips is in his 17th year in the Redhawks Department of Athletics.
Wilcox was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Support Services and Senior Woman Administrator. She will oversee the department's academic, sports medicine and sports performance areas, and serve as the sport administrator for soccer and track & field moving forward. As the Senior Woman Administrator, Wilcox will represent the institution on various conference committees and provide oversight and support for Title IX and gender equity initiatives. She is in her fifth year at SEMO.
