Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Redhawks Fall to Evansville, 1-0, to Open Indiana Weekend Trip Thursday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southeast Missouri women's soccer (2-3-0) fell to Evansville (4-0-1), 1-0, Thursday evening at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
 
SEMO outshot the Purple Aces, 16-9, in the Redhawks opener to its weekend trip in the state of Indiana. Evansville led the shots on goal differential, 6-5.
 
Kristen Harvey notched the game-winner in the 25th minute of play off an assist from Alex Eyler and Emilie Hill.
 
The Redhawks held a 6-5 advantage in shots in the opening 45 minutes with Evansville hitting the target four times.
 
SEMO tallied 10 shots in the second half with five on goal compared to the Purple Aces' four (two on goal).
 
Zoey Memmel led the Redhawks with five shots including two on goal. Lauren Welker and Hannah Compernolle (two shots on goal) each had two shots. 
 
Welker concluded the game with 82 minutes on the pitch.
 
Abby Rollet made her first start in net since the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament on Nov. 8, 2019. Rollet tallied five saves Thursday. 
 
Michaela Till compiled five saves for the Purple Aces in the win.
 
Harvey finished with a game-high three shots including two SOGs. Emily Ormson posted two shots on target.
 
Emma Brune, the reigning OVC Defender of the Week, extended her streak of playing every minute of regulation to 17-straight games dating back to this past spring's 2020-21 season. She notched a shot on goal.
 
Natalie Jackson made her season debut, registering a shot in 65 minutes of action as a substitution.
 
Elizabeth Rater made her second consecutive start in the midfield.
 
SEMO continues its tour of Indiana Sunday in Bloomington, Indiana. The Redhawks face Indiana of the Big 10 Conference. Initial kick is scheduled for 7 p.m., CT.
