Redhawks Drop Regular-Season Finale to Jacksonville State, 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Ala – Austine Pauley went 2-for-3 with a walk as Southeast Missouri (28-15, 23-6) came up short in a 4-3 loss to Jacksonville State (23-23, 21-13) Sunday.

Trailing, 1-0, after two innings, SEMO tied things up in the top of the third when Katie Dreiling singled through the left side to score Jillian Anderson.

JSU quickly answered to reclaim a 2-1 edge in the bottom of the third inning when Keeli Bobbitt doubled and came around to score when Shelby Newsome hit into a fielder's choice.

The Redhawks took their only lead in the fourth where Ashley Emert walked and quickly scored on a triple by Karsyn Davis. Davis touched home when Abigail Rickermann reached on an error to put SEMO ahead, 3-2.

Three-straight walks loaded the bases for JSU with no outs in the bottom of the fifth. After Bobbitt scored on an error, Alexus Jimmerson knocked in the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly.

Lexi Androlevich (1-3) earned her first win of the season. Androlevich threw 2.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout and a walk out of the Gamecocks bullpen. She allowed two hits, as well.

Amanda Hansen (0-1) took the loss. Hansen gave up three runs on two hits, struck out two and walked three in three innings.

SEMO outhit JSU, 7-3, and left 10 runners on base.

Pauley paved the way with two hits, while Ashley Ellis, Dreiling, Kelby Robinson, Davis and Kimmy Wallen followed with one apiece.

The top-seeded Redhawks will open Ohio Valley Conference Tournament play against fourth-seeded JSU on Thursday, May 13. First pitch is set for 1 p.m., CT at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. No. 2 Eastern Kentucky and No. 3 Austin Peay complete this year's field.
