NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Roshala Scott and Tesia Thompson each finished with 15 points and LaTrese Saine poured in 12 Tuesday as Southeast Missouri women's basketball (12-7, 10-4 OVC) overcame Belmont (10-5, 7-3 OVC), 70-66, at the Curb Event Center.

With the victory, SEMO has now achieved 10 Ohio Valley Conference wins this season.

Thompson added 14 boards in the contest for her fifth double-double of the season and second-straight.

Trailing 36-26 at the break, SEMO pulled within a point after a dominating 22-13 third quarter. Scott had seven points in the period and Thompson chipped in five as the Redhawks had a field goal percentage of 50 percent.

Terri Smith pulled up for a 3-pointer to open the frame before Scott completed a fast break play to cut the Bruins advantage to 36-31 with 8:39 to play in the third.

Thompson then added a jumper with 4:55 on the clock to bring the Belmont edge to 41-38.

Back-to-back buckets from Destinee Wells, this week's OVC Freshman of the Week, and Cam Browning regrew the Bruins margin to 49-41 with 2:26 left in the third.

SEMO concluded the third quarter on a 7-0 run to make the contest a one-point game (49-48). Saine converted a lay-up before Scott hit a three followed by a basket from Thompson.

Thompson then split a pair of free throws early in the fourth quarter to knot the game at 49-49. Saine added a basket to give the Redhawks a 51-49 lead with 8:43 left in regulation.

Nyrobi Pillers tallied a bucket to push the SEMO advantage to five (59-54) with 5:17 remaining.

Tuti Jones then registered a trey to cut the Redhawk margin to 59-57. Jamilyn Kinney knocked down a 3-pointer with 2:10 left to bring the SEMO edge to 63-62.

Jones added another 3-pointer to give the Bruins their final lead of the evening, 65-63.

With the shot clock dwindling, Taelour Pruitt then blasted a three off a feed from Scott to shift the advantage back to SEMO, 66-65, with 1:08 remaining in regulation. Pruitt finished with seven points, connecting on 2-for-5 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.

Thompson added a pair of free throws to regrow the Redhawks lead to 68-65.

Down the stretch, Saine recorded a huge block on the defensive end to seal the win.

She finished with four blocks to complement 12 points and eight boards.

Thompson added a free throw for good measure as SEMO captured the road win, 70-66.

SEMO jumped out to a 5-0 advantage in the game. A 3-pointer from Pruitt provided the Redhawks with a 12-9 edge with 3:36 in the first quarter.

Wells tallied a three-point play to cut the SEMO lead to one, 16-15, heading to the second quarter.

The Bruins opened the second period on an 8-0 run to pull ahead, 23-18, after a Conley Chinn 3-point basket.

Wells then connected on a jumper to push the Belmont lead to 35-24 with 45 ticks till halftime.

Smith concluded the game with eight points, shooting 3-for-6 from the field. Sophie Bussard added seven and Pillers had six with a personal-best seven rebounds.

Briana Johns made her Redhawks debut in the road contest. The freshman from Alexandria, Virginia, saw four minutes of action in the second quarter.

SEMO outrebounded Belmont, 44-29, with 22 on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court.

The Redhawks shot 42 percent from the field while Belmont converted on 44 percent of its shots.

SEMO benefited from 24 second chance points compared to eight for the Bruins. The Redhawks also had 21 points off Belmont turnovers.

Wells posted 19 points, a season-high nine assists and five steals. Jones (13 points) and Chinn (12) also added double-figure points. Chinn grabbed a team-high six rebounds, as Jones joined Wells with five steals in 40 minutes on the court.

SEMO continues its week on the road Thursday at Murray State. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. at the CFSB Center.
