CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.– Dane Quest made two free throws with five seconds left to send Tennessee Tech (6-19, 3-9) to a 62-60 win over Southeast Missouri (5-10, 1-11) Saturday at the Show Me Center.
 
Quest was fouled with one second on the shot clock and calmly went to the free throw line to make his decisive shots.
 
Alex Caldwell dribbled the ball to the right of the key, but didn't get a shot off when contact was made by multiple converging TTU defenders. Amadou Sylla later came up with the loose ball as time expired.
 
SEMO never led in the game, but managed to tie TTU on three occasions.
 
Nygal Russell's layup tied things up at 60-60 with 1:40 left to play. 
 
Each team then missed a 3-pointer before 
Isaiah Gable fouled Quest.
 
Russell made a 3-pointer and a jumper, and Caldwell knocked down a to make it a one-point game twice in the first half before the Golden Eagles went on to take a 37-26 lead at the break.
 
TTU capitalized on a 4:06 scoreless drought by SEMO and scored the final seven points of the half en route to its double-digit lead.
 
Russell scored a season-high 21 points to lead all scorers. He went 8-of-11 from the field and buried a perfect 4-of-4 three-pointers. 
 
Sage Tolbert followed with 12 points and eight rebounds.
 
SEMO shot 43.4 percent (23-of-53) from the field for the game.
 
Garrett Golday led TTU with 13 points.
 
The Redhawks return to action when they host UT Martin on Feb. 13.
