MARTIN, Tenn. – UT Martin (9-20, 5-13) used a 13-5 run in the final four minutes of the game to get by Southeast Missouri (7-24, 3-15), 87-78, Saturday at the Elam Center.
UTM and SEMO went back-and-forth in a game that included 10 ties and 10 lead changes.
The Redhawks held their largest lead at 24-15 following a fastbreak basket by
Jordan Love with 9:49 remaining in the first half.
UTM, however, closed the gap to send the game tied at 36-36 at halftime.
Isaiah Gable cut UTM's lead to 74-73 with 3:48 on the clock, but the Skyhawks scored 13 of the final 18 points to close out the win.
Derek Hawthorne, Jr., led all scorers with 31 points and Quintin Dove added 27 to lead UTM. The Skyhawks shot 54.5 percent (30-of-55) and outscored SEMO, 21-12, at the free throw line.
Skyler Hogan led all SEMO scorers with 19 points. Hogan made five of the Redhawks eight 3-pointers in the game.
Sage Tolbert followed with a double-double 14 points and 11 rebounds, while
Alex Caldwell finished with 13 points and Gable pitched in 11.
SEMO ends its 2019-20 season with today's loss.
