Redhawks Fall in Final Minutes to Tennessee Tech, 71-62

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech (9-20, 6-10) scored nine of the game's final 12 points to finish off a 71-62 win over Southeast Missouri (7-22, 3-13) Saturday at the Eblen Center.
 
SEMO and TTU exchanged leads 11 times and battled to six ties before the game was decided in the last 3:29.
 
The Redhawks trailed, 62-59, following a jumper by Skyler Hogan.
 
After that, TTU outscored SEMO, 9-3, and took a 12-point lead (71-59) on two free throws by Keishawn Davidson with 54 seconds to go.
 
Isaiah Gable buried a 3-pointer for the game's final basket.
 
SEMO led by seven points a little under six minutes into the contest.
 
Alex Caldwell scored four points and Sage Tolbert split a pair of free throws to help grab the Redhawks a 12-5 advantage with 14:04 remaining in the first half.
 
Hunter Vick's 3-pointer capped an 8-0 surge and gave TTU its first lead at 13-12 at the 11:47 mark.
 
The Golden Eagles increased their lead to 27-21 on a layup by Tujautae Williams. 
 
Quatarrius Wilson, however managed to regain a 31-30 edge for SEMO before Cade Crosland made a 3-pointer to give TTU a 35-31 halftime lead. 
 
Davidson scored 14 points to lead five TTU players in double figures. The Golden Eagles shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the field.
 
Wilson turned in a double-double 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead SEMO. Hogan added 15 points and Gable pitched in 13 off the bench. 
 
With the loss, SEMO's chances of making the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament were eliminated.
 
The Redhawks return home to host Eastern Illinois during Senior Night on Feb. 27.
