CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.–Terry Taylor had a double-double 22 points and 11 rebounds, and freshman Jordyn Adams added 22 points to lead Austin Peay (7-7, 1-0) to a 78-63 win over Southeast Missouri (4-10, 0-1) Thursday night at the Dunn Center.
 
SEMO dropped its sixth-straight game in its series against APSU.
 
Alex Caldwell gave SEMO its only lead of the game when he knocked down a 3-pointer on the Redhawks first possession 40 seconds into the contest.
 
After Sage Tolbert made a layup to cut APSU's lead to 27-22, the Redhawks did not make another field goal for the final 8:04 of the first half.
 
SEMO missed 10 field goals in a row as the Governors used a 10-0 run to open 37-22 advantage. Adams' 3-pointer capped that surge with 2:44 remaining in the opening stanza.
 
Adams finished with 17 points in the first half, three points less than SEMO's starting five combined (20) and APSU headed into the locker room ahead, 41-24. 
 
SEMO scored under 30 points in the first half for the sixth time in eight games.
 
The Redhawks shot much better in the second half making 59.3 percent (16-of-27) of its shots. SEMO also outscored APSU, 39-37, over the game's final 20 minutes.
 
Caldwell led SEMO with 12 points, his team-high eighth double-digit scoring game this season. He shot 5-of-10 from the field and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers.
 
Skyler Hogan and DQ Nicholas followed close behind with 11 points each.
 
SEMO wound up shooting 44.4 percent from the field.
 
Taylor shot 8-of-16 and Adams went 8-of-12 from the field to lead APSU which outrebounded SEMO, 41-21, with a 15-6 advantage on the offensive glass.
 
Carlos Paez contributed 13 points and made three of the Governors 11 three-pointers.
 
APSU shot just under 50 percent (.491) in the contest.
 
SEMO, now 10-19 all-time in OVC openers, heads to defending OVC Champion Murray State Saturday.
