Knott and Keller Register Top-15 Finishes as Women Place Seventh at Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Carli Knott and Maddie Keller posted top-15 finishes Friday at Missouri's Gans Creek Classic as Southeast Missouri women's cross country placed seventh as a team in the 6K held at the Gans Creek Recreation Area. The Southeast men finished 10th in the 8K and were led by Chris Durr who finished 39th overall.
Knott who was awarded Ohio Valley Conference Female Co-Runner of the Week on Tuesday paced SEMO with a time of 22:09.7 for 11th overall out of a field of 101. Keller placed 15th in a personal best 22:24.3.The Southeast women finished seventh at the Classic with 189 points.
Missouri was the top team in both races, accumulating 28 points in the women's competition and 55 points in the men's race.
Kaitlyn Shea was first overall in the women's 6K in 21:12.4, competing as an unattached runner.
Hannah Eastman had a top-50 finish of 23:48.7 (45th). Danielle Mohrmann (71st, 24:38.1) and Katie Wegmann (73rd, 24:47.8) rounded out the SEMO scorers.
Adrienne Brauer (76th, 24:53.0), Mackenzie Pugh (91st, 26:03.6) and Jane Boessen (100th, 27:01.5) also ran in the race for Southeast.
Durr was the top SEMO male finisher in the 8K, clocking in at 26:54.0 for 39th.
Aaron Modrow completed the race in 28:00.5 for 59th and Kory Snyder notched a mark of 28:11.8 for 62nd.
Terrico Garrett (64th, 28:23.8) and Trevor Falco (72nd, 29:59.1) also scored for Southeast. Austin Perkins also ran in the race (30:29.7, 73rd) for the SEMO men.
Missouri's Thomas George had the top 8K time of 24:49.9 to win the race.
Southeast returns to Peoria, Illinois, for the second time this season for the 2019 Bradley Pink Classic Friday, Oct. 18 at the Newman Golf Course. The women will run 6K, while the men will compete in an 8K.
