Knott and Keller Finish Second and Third as Women Place Second at Bradley Intercollegiate Friday

PEORIA, Ill. – Carli Knott and Maddie Keller finished second and third in the women's three mile race as Southeast Missouri women's cross country placed second as a team with 73 points at the Bradley Intercollegiate Friday at Detweiller Park. The Southeast men placed sixth (179 points) as a team and were led by Chris Durr who finished the 8K in 23rd.
Bradley swept its meet as the women accumulated 24 points and the men totaled 20 points. Bradley's McKenzie Altmayer won the women's race in 17:21.1. Jake Hoffert of Bradley captured the men's crown in 25:06.1.
Knott was the runner-up in the three mile race with a personal-best mark of 17:26.5. Keller finished after in third with a time of 17:28.8.
Hannah Eastman (18:14.6, 16th), Katie Wegmann (18:35.5, 27th) and Danielle Mohrmann (18:51.0, PR, 34th) rounded out the SEMO scorers.
Durr paced the Redhawks men, crossing the finish for the 8K in 26:53.2 for 23rd.
Caleb Cornelius of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was the second fastest SEMO male finisher, clocking in at 27:18.3 (38th).
Terrico Garrett (27:52.2, 52nd), Aaron Modrow (28:00.6, 57th) and Austin Perkins (29:08.7, 85th) completed the Redhawks top five male runners.
Southeast treks to Columbia, Missouri, for the 2019 Mizzou Cross Country Challenge on Friday, Sept. 27 at Gans Creek Recreation Area. SEMO will compete against Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Drake, Illinois State, North Florida, Saint Louis, Southern Illinois, UMKC, Alabama-Birmingham and meet host Missouri. The women will run a 6K at 5 p.m. and the men will compete in an 8K at 5:30 p.m.
The Redhawks then return to Peoria, Illinois, for the 2019 Bradley Pink Classic Friday, Oct. 18 at Newman Golf Course.
