MOREHEAD, Ky. - Southeast Missouri (23-32) wrapped up its 2019 season with a 8-7 loss to Morehead State (37-19) Saturday afternoon at Allen Field. The Redhawks dropped all three games of the series and came up short of making next week's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
Austin Blazevic went 2-for-3 with a RBI-double and scored a run. 
MSU took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first on three hits. The Eagles loaded the bases with two outs and 
Noah Niznik hit a batter to push across the first run. Dom Peroni hit a grand slam to extend the lead. 
The Redhawks scored twice in the top of third. Blazevic doubled home 
Danny Wright and later scored on a fielding error to cut MSU's lead to 5-2.
MSU countered with a three-run home run by Ryan Layne to widen its lead to 8-2 in the bottom of the third.
SEMO started to away at the Eagles lead with an RBI-single by 
Connor Basler in the top of the sixth. 
The Redhawks then batted around to score four runs and make it a one-run game in the seventh inning. 
Peyton Faulkner belted a two-RBI double, 
Brett Gonzalez had a run-scoring single and 
Turner Fritts touched home on a wild pitch.
Wilber represented the tying run at third base in the eighth inning, but was unable to score.
SEMO outhit MSU, 13-10. Faulkner and Wilber led the Redhawks with three hits each, and Blazevic followed with two. 
The Redhawks close out the 2019 season with an overall record of 23-32 and 10-21 in the OVC.
