Romana Tarajova captured a doubles victory at the no. 3 position but Southeast Missouri women's tennis (8-7, 1-2 OVC) fell to Austin Peay (15-0, 3-0 OVC), 7-0, Friday at the Governors Tennis Center.

Barriga and Tarajova improved their dual record in 2019 to 6-3 with a 6-3 decision over Fabienne Schmidt and Danielle Morris after the Governors were the victors at the top doubles spot.Â

Honoka Nakanishi and Tatiana Lopez beat
Sneha Sinha and
Kseniya Zonova, 6-3, to start the match. Austin Peay then claimed the doubles point when Lidia Yanes Garcia and Claudia Yanes Garcia fought past
Teona Velkoska and
Isabella Krupa, 7-6 (8-6).Â

Austin Peay, the preseason Ohio Valley Conference favorite, then rallied off wins at each singles position when the match switched from doubles.Â

Three-time OVC Player of the Year Lidia Yanes Garcia defeated Zonova, 6-3, 6-2, at the no. 2 slot to push the Governors advantage to 2-0.Â

Lopez then utilized a first set tiebreak to overcome Krupa, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, at the third position.Â

Claudia Yanes Garcia beat
Romana Tarajova, 7-5, 7-5, in a tightly contested match at the no. 1 singles to provide Austin Peay with the dual victory.

Anais Emelie and Fabienne Schmidt then needed a third set to settle their fourth singles match. Emelie dropped the opening set, 4-6, before winning the second set 7-5. Schmidt then topped Emelie in the final set, 10-5.Â

Helena Kuppig then beat
Teona Velkoska, 6-0, 6-2, at no. 5 singles.Â

Danielle Morris led Sinha, 5-4, at the sixth position before the match was called.Â
