CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Austin Blazevic, Alex Nielsen and Devon Wilson combined for seven hits, two runs and seven RBI in the middle of the lineup to lead Southeast Missouri (18-23) to an 8-4 victory over Saint Louis (17-22) Monday night at Capaha Field.
SEMO picked up its second-straight win, marking the first time it won back-to-back games in over a month.
The Redhawks jumped all over the Billikens early and never let up.
SEMO scored seven runs in the first two innings, including five in the bottom of the second to take a 7-2 lead.
Danny Wright scored on a wild pitch and Blazevic hit a two-out single to score Peyton Faulkner in the first inning.
Blazevic delivered again in the second, this time with a two-RBI single to center. That hit was the first of three-straight with two outs. Nielsen followed with a single and Tyler Wilber scored. Then, Wilson tripled to right center and both Nielsen and Blazevic touched home.
SEMO's other run came on a one-out single by Nielsen in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Daniel Bergtholdt (4-4) earned the win in relief. Bergtholdt struck out six and allowed two runs on four hits in 4.1 innings. Aaron Stretch recorded his third save of the season.
Drew Reveno (0-2) suffered the loss. Reveno scattered eight hits, gave up seven runs, struck out three and walked two in two innings.
SEMO finished with 12 hits as eight different starters had a hit.
The Redhawks return to action when they host McKendree Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., CT.
