Football Alums Connolly and Roth Open Performance Center in St. Louis

BALLWIN, Mo. – Former Southeast Missouri football standouts Dan Connolly and Ryan Roth recently opened D1 Training, a World-Class Performance Center in St. Louis.

D1 Training, a leading fitness concept that utilizes the five tenets of athletic-based training to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals, will be opening in Ballwin as the first D1 in Missouri. While the facility opened on June 14, a grand opening is planned for June 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the new training center (14015 Manchester Road).

The St. Louis West D1 Training location is owned and operated by Connolly and Roth who will join a vast group of existing D1 Training franchisees including professional athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Tim Tebow, Chipper Jones and Peyton Manning.

Connolly (2001-04), a member of SEMO's Athletic Hall of Fame, was a four-year starting offensive tackle and a Second-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection in each of his four seasons as a Redhawk. He went on to play 10 seasons in the NFL, including eight with the New England Patriots. Connolly became the first player in school history to play in a Super Bowl when he suited up with the Patriots against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. He then won a Super Bowl XLIX ring with New England in Glendale, Arizona.

Roth (1999-03) was a First-Team All-OVC defensive lineman in 2003 and earned second-team honors in 2002. He ranked among SEMO's career leaders in sacks (t6th, 10) and tackles for loss (29). Roth worked for D1 Training before deciding to open a location in Ballwin.

"Dan, Ryan and the new St. Louis West D1 Training location will be an excellent addition to our organization," said Michael Abramson, president of D1 Training. "The St. Louis West location will bring a one of a kind training experience and energy to the community and help them realize everyone can be an athlete."

In celebration of the St. Louis location's grand opening, community members are invited to meet the team for a grand opening event complete with tours of the state-of-the-art facility, private VIP workouts for local sports teams and special fitness competitions for the kids as well as additional family friendly vendors and activities. Johnny Mac's will be on site with an indoor batting cage, St. Louis Cryo-On-The-Go will offer discounted cryotherapy sessions in their mobile cryosauna and Defiance Fuel will be sponsoring an autograph session featuring celebrity athletes and providing complimentary sports beverages. Other vendors in attendance include Supplement Superstores and 1st Phorm. Additionally, in the lead up to the grand opening event, the new St. Louis West D1 will be offering discounted pricing to the first 100 members.

All D1 Training locations offer five age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18), Boot Camp (adults), and Strength Training (adults). Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based training tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance series, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. To ensure athletes are on track to meet sport and fitness goals, every eight weeks, new workouts are created by D1's National Training Panel, led by D1 Founder Will Bartholomew, optimized for desired results. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers one-on-one training with world-class coaches which has been utilized by professional and Olympic athletes.

D1 Training currently has more than 25 performance centers open with 21 additional locations in development.Anticipating nearly 40 new franchise agreements signed by 2019, the brand expects more than 100 locations operating in the next three years.
