Series History
Eastern Kentucky leads its all-time series against Southeast Missouri by a count of 30-19. EKU has won seven of the last eight meetings between these teams. The Redhawks beat the Colonels, 81-48, in last year's matchup at the Show Me Center on Dec. 31, 2016. EKU, however, beat Southeast, 91-86, in Cape Girardeau this season.

Four in a Row
Southeast is on a four-game winning streak after defeating Morehead State (78-62) and UT Martin (81-77) on the road, and Eastern Illinois (80-73) and SIU Edwardsville (79-74) at home. The four-game winning streak is the Redhawks longest in Ohio Valley Conference play this season. A victory at Eastern Kentucky Thursday will give Southeast its longest winning streak under head coach Rick Ray and first five-game winning streak since 2013-14 (Feb. 20-Mar. 5).

Season Sweep
Southeast completed its third sweep of an Ohio Valley Conference opponent this season when it beat SIU Edwardsville, 79-75, on Feb. 17. The Redhawks also swept Morehead State by scores of 78-75 (Cape Girardeau) and 78-62 (Morehead), and Eastern Illinois by scores of 86-74 (Charleston) and 80-73 (Cape Girardeau) this year. Southeast has a total of five season sweeps of league opponents under head coach Rick Ray.

Redhawks Even OVC Record
The Redhawks enter their final week of the season with an even 8-8 record in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast is currently seventh in the league standings. The Redhawks recorded at least eight OVC wins for the second consecutive year. The last time Southeast had at least eight conference victories in back-to-back seasons was 2012-13 (8-8) and 2013-14 (8-8).

Brewer Named OVC Freshman of the Week
Guard Ledarrius Brewer was a unanimous pick for the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor on Feb. 19. A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Brewer had a gigantic week averaging 29.5 points per game en route to leading SEMO to a pair of wins. Brewer began the week by pouring in a career-high 34 points and buried seven 3-pointers in an 80-73 victory over Eastern Illinois (Feb. 15). He shot 11-of-18 from the field and made his first four 3-pointers of the game as the Redhawks finished with a season-high 13 three-pointers made. Two days later, Brewer finished with 25 points, four 3-pointers and hit 11-of-13 free throws, including four in the final 21 seconds as SEMO held off SIUE, 79-74. For the week, Brewer shot 57.1 percent (16-of-28) from the field and 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from 3-point range in two starts. His seven 3-pointers made against EIU tied for second-most in a game in the OVC this year. Brewer, also named College Sports Madness OVC Player of the Week, ranks 14th in the league in scoring (14.4 ppg), 14th in free throw percentage (.742), sixth in 3-point field goals made (2.2 per game) and 22nd in minutes played (29.2 mpg). He joined Belmont's Dylan Windler (Player of the Week) and Austin Peay's Averyl Ugba (Newcomer of the Week) as that week's honorees.

Approaching 200 Assists
Point guard Jonathan Dalton is just three assists away from reaching 200 in his career. Dalton ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference with 156 assists this season and currently has 197 in his career. He averages 5.4 per game. Dalton has reached 10 assists in a game twice this year.

Closing In
The Redhawks need only three more 3-pointers to break the school's single-season team record in 3-pointers made. Southeast made 263 three-pointers for that record a year ago. The Redhawks currently have 261 three-point field goals made.

First Double-Double for Simmons
Daniel Simmons registered the first double-double of his career when he scored 13 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds in Southeast's win over SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 17). Simmons had 10 defensive rebounds and made a near-perfect 8-of-9 free throws in that game. He became the fifth different Redhawk to get a double-double this season.

Lots of Free Throws
Southeast made a season-high 28-of-35 free throws for 80 percent in its 79-74 victory over SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 17). The Redhawks outscored the Cougars, 28-17 (+11), at the free throw line and made six free throws in the final 21 seconds to hang on for the win. Combined, there were 58 free throws attempted in that contest.

Mahoney to Join Top-20 Scoring List
Denzel Mahoney, who is just a sophomore, is already one point away from joining Southeast's all-time career scoring list. Mahoney has 1,056 points and will surpass Joe Cagle (1,055 pts., 1973-77) for the 20th spot with another two-point basket. Carl Ritter (1959-63) is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,916 points.

New Season-High
The Redhawks made a season-high 13 three-pointers against Eastern Illinois (Feb. 15). Southeast shot 59.1 percent on 13-of-22 from downtown. It was the Redhawks best 3-point field goal percentage in an Ohio Valley Conference game and second-best overall this season.

Gable Cleared
Freshman forward Isaiah Gable was cleared to play prior to the Eastern Illinois game on Feb. 15. Gable participated in warm-ups, but did not see action in that game. He missed each of the last 14 games, including 12 with a foot fracture.
