MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tesia Thompson had a double-double 21 points and 10 rebounds as Southeast Missouri (4-6) fell to Memphis (4-6), 69-57, Monday night at Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
Thompson recorded her fifth career double-double against the Tigers during the visit to her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.
SEMO led Memphis for the majority of the first half and battled the Tigers to the final minutes.
The Redhawks led by as many as eight points at the with 2:55 remaining in the first half, but fell behind by 18 in the last five minutes.
Memphis outscored SEMO, 22-12, in the third quarter.
In the final minute of play, there were a combined seven trips to the free throw line. A total of 16 points were scored between the two teams in the last 60 seconds of the contest. Eight of those points came from the charity stripe.
SEMO shot just 4-of-25 (.160) from 3-point range and 22-of-70 (.314) from the field.
The Redhawks will break for the Christmas holiday before wrapping up their non-conference slate at home against Harris-Stowe on Dec. 29.
