Jocelyn Taylor posted 19 points for a career-high as Southeast Missouri (1-4) dropped a 67-80 decision to North Alabama Saturday evening in game one of the New Jersey Institute of Technology Thanksgiving Classic.
The Redhawks were held to a season-low one three-pointer against the Lions, shooting only .167 from behind the arc.
Kennedi Allen scored her first double-double of her career with 10 rebounds and 13 points.
For the second-straight game, Southeast had four players in double-figures. Along with Taylor and Allen,
Adrianna Murphy (11) and
Tesia Thompson (11) scored extra points.
At the start of the second quarter, the Redhawks trailed 17-18. In the second quarter, Southeast came out on a 6-0 run, only to be halted by a 20-0 run by UNA.
North Alabama pulled away at this time, and the Redhawks could not catch back up.
SEMO shot just 47.2 percent (25-of-53) from the field and turned the bal over a season-high 31 times.
UNA finished with a .510 (26-of-51) field goal percentage and moved to 6-0 in the season.
SEMO will face NJIT tomorrow at 2:00 p.m., CT at the Wellness and Events Center in Newark, New Jersey. Southeast will then return to the Show Me Center to host Indiana State (Nov. 29).
